Chapter 7

"This one is our cheapest one" the clerk said pointing to a puppy in one of the higher cages

"What breed is it?" I asked him taking a look at the cute dog

"German Shepard" he answered opening the cage

"Is it good with kids?" I asked him as I watched him carefully pick up the puppy

"Well he's a puppy so I can't say but his breed is known to be family friendly if it grows up that way" the clerk informed me.

The worker handed me the tiny little dog and I immediately fell in love.

"Hey Buddy" I cooed holding it up to my face

The puppy wagged it's tail and licked the tip of my nose completely winning me over.

"I'll take him" I said scratching his little head

"Alright, just come over here. I'll check you out and give you all of his stuff" the clerk said, motioning me to follow him.

I walked over to the counter and placed the dog on top of it so that I can grab my wallet. I payed the amount the clerk told me with my dad's credit card and watched as the clerk got Buddy's bed, leash, food, blanket, and little toy.

"You're good to go. If you want to return the dog you have up to three months to do so." The clerk informed me.

I thanked him and left the store holding our brand new dog.

"You are the cutest little dude" I said as I placed him on the passenger seat

I closed the door and got inside through the drivers side and started the car. As soon as the car started moving Buddy decided to climb on my lap.

"How am I supposed to drive with you on my lap silly?" I asked him scratching behind his ear

Buddy barked and jumped up placing his two front paws on my chest so that he can kiss my face.

"C'mon Bud we have to bring you to Nichole" I laughed picking him and placing him on the seat next to me.

As soon as I placed my hands on the steering wheel Buddy ended up on top of me yet again.

"Wanna drive with me?" I asked him

I made him sit on my lap facing the steering wheel and allowed him to put his paws up on top of it.

"Nichole is going to love you" I smiled accelerating the gas

The ride home was...eventful. Buddy accidentally hit the horn on the steering wheel making people around me flip me off. Also Buddy was so scared of the sound that I have a bit of dog piss on my pants. All I have to say is that he's lucky he's cute.

As I pulled up to my house Buddy started barking like mad. He was freaking out and running back and forth from my seat to the passenger seat. I unbuckled my self and got out of the car. I left the door opened and grabbed Buddy's leash.

"Buddy let's go" I called him

He still doesn't know his name but he still came towards me due to the sound of my voice I'm guessing.

I hooked his leash to his blue collar and picked him up off of the drivers seat. I slammed the car door shut and placed Buddy onto the ground.

Buddy practically dragged me to my front door and started scratching at the paint as I got my keys out.

"Buddy, stop Mom is gonna kill us" I scolded placing the key into the door handle

I turned the key and pushed open the heavy door letting Buddy run inside. I was still holding his leash which was a bad idea since he'll probably get all tangled up.
