Blake's POV
I stared at the casket in front of me. It was a child's size with huge arrangements of flowers on top of and around it.
I watched as the priest finished the blessing and motioned me to come up to the casket and say a few words.
I took in a deep breath and walked up to Nichole's casket. I shoved my hand into my left pocket and felt the folded speech I had written the night before. I looked at my crying mother and father and decided to say the eulogy from my heart not from a piece of paper, that's what they would want.
"On me and my family's behalf I want to thank all of you for coming out here today. Nichole touched a lot of people and I know her passing has effected all of us" I began looking at the crowd dressed in black.
"Nichole was the best thing that had ever happened to me and I'm sure that whoever knew her personally would say the same thing. She was brave, funny, and she always had the biggest heart. I remember sitting next to her the night she passed away and she requested me to read a page out of her Fairy book. It's not really a fairy book but I didn't have the heart to tell her that" I continued chuckling a little.
"She told me that her favorite one was on the last page so I flipped to it. It was the Archangel Remiel. If you don't know, Remiel is the angel of hope. He also is the one that greets us when we die and go to heaven, where I'm sure Nichole is now." I smiled to myself before proceeding forward
"I made her promise me something that night. I made her promise me that she would never leave my side and that she would look out for me. So kiddo if you kept your word you should be hearing this next part" I laughed looking up at the sky causing the crowd to chuckle as well.
"Nichole, I remember the day you came into my house as an infant. Your mom had just passed away and we didn't know who or where your dad was. I was around ten years old and at that age, in that moment I knew that you were not only going to be best cousin in the world but the best little sister a guy can ask for. Your physical body may have died but I know that your spirit will live on. I miss you already kid, tell Jesus and your mom I said Hi. I love you." I finished
I placed my hand on her casket and made my way across the grass towards my parents in the front row.
"That was beautiful sweetie" my mom whispered kissing my cheek.
We all stood up as the casket began to get ready to be placed into the ground. The hired men took away all the flowers and items that were placed on top, leaving a bare casket.
The casket was lowered into the ground slowly, as the workers started to fill up the hole with dirt.
It took about ten minutes for them to fully submerged the casket into the ground and cover it up with dirt. They placed the two patches of grass they dug up before and placed it back, making it look like nothing happened.
I went over to the pile of flowers and picked up the bouquet I bought for her. I also grabbed her favorite stuffed animal before walking over to her gravestone. I carefully laid the two items in front of her stone and smiled knowing how happy she must be right now.
I didn't even realize that all one hundred people that showed up were staring at me with teary eyes until I saw hands coming from behind me placing their flowers on her grave as well.
I turned around and saw Emma, Lola, Henry, Eric, and Megan smiling at me.
"Who said you have to go through this alone?" Emma asked setting her last bouquet down
"Thank you" I said
Everyone else in the crowd got up and grabbed their own flowers before forming a line in front of me. My parents were first and I watched them place another stuffed toy of hers.
