Hailey's POVI walked around to the side of the house. To the spot were Ponyboy and I had drilled little pieces of wood at different levels into the wall last summer. I put my foot onto the first piece of wood, using the wood pieces as foot holds, and started climbing up the wall. I only stopped once I reached my destination. The roof. I hoisted myself onto it and laid down looking up at the sky. It had to be about 4:00am because the moon was dull in the sky and the sun was starting to rise. The sky turned from a luscious deep indigo to a magnificent bright orangey-pink.

The sweet sound of birds chirping and the noise of traffic that was not to far from here, commenced. The day was about to start. The beautiful sunrise colors had turned into a bright blue sky filled with cottony white clouds and a fiery star that was beating down on the world. The thoughts of colors that I was having were interrupted when I heard my name being called from below me. "Hailey?! Where are you!?" Damn that was Darry and he didn't sound very happy. I stood up and started walking over to the ledge of the roof. "Hailey!" The shouts were getting closer. "I'm out here!" I called back to the worried voices. The boys came running out of the house, and I realized that I must have dozed off while I was up on the roof because ALL the boys were there. "Oh no guys we have a jumper!" Two-bit cried out. "Relax! I'm not goin' to commit suicide Keith! I came up here to watch the sunrise!" When I said that I saw Pony smile and Steve was saying something about Pony and I being alike. "Now that, that's out of the way who's gonna help me get down?" I demanded. "Why don't you get down the same way you got up?" Darry asked suspiciously. Luckily I didn't have to answer because Pony did for me. "She says it's not fun to climb down. She likes to jump." Johnny and Pony started grinning while the other boys were wide eyed, even Dally. "You will not jump of the building young lady!" Darry called up to me. "Why not she does it all the time." Johnny replied. I heard Darry sigh. "Ponyboy! Johnny! Get ready 'cause here I come-!" The last few words I didn't hear because all I heard was the wind shouting in my ears. My hair was blowing upwards and I felt light. My heart was racing and I couldn't breath but it was amazing. It feels like you are lost in time. But like they say, 'all good things must come to an end' and it's true, because the moment of free falling was over and I was laying in a bed of arms.

When my feet were back on the ground I was bombarded with questions and comments from everyone. Although the questions from Ponyboy and Johnny were positive questions.
"Was it fun?" Pony asked.
"You will never do that again missy!" Darry cried.
"You scared me to death!" Soda implied.
"Why would you jump? Crazy kid." That was probably Steve.
"Are you alright?" Johnny asked. Only Johnny would care to ask that, maybe Pony too but Johnny-Cake was always caring about everyone.
"You didn't even scream!" Dally stated.
Then came the stupidest comment anyone could have made and I'm sure your guessing who said it. "That was really hot!" Two-Bit exclaimed. All heads whipped around to face him. Darry and Soda were glaring at him. Steve had an amused look on his face an Ponyboy and Johnny were looking at something else. Or should I say someone else. I fully turned and looked at Dally, he looked like he wanted to strangle Two-Bit. Before anyone could say my name I stepped in between Dally and Two-Bit to stop their little face off. I was facing Two-Bit and decided I had to standup for myself, even if his comment was flattering. "Aw! Why thank you Two-Bit!" I said in the most girly way possible. I stood up on my tippy toes and acted like I was going to kiss him (let me just say eww!). You should have seen the joy on his face. I heard someone scoff and start to walk away. When I thought it was a good time, I raised my hand and Bitch slapped Two-Bit right across the face. I backed away from him to inspect the damage, it wasn't much but he will have a red mark for the rest of the day. The boys were "oohing" and then I heard laughter come from behind me. I turned around and saw Dally laughing on the floor. "Look Two-Bit," I said as I turned back to him. "I'm flattered and all, but I'm way out of your league." I flipped my hair over my shoulder and sashayed into the house to get changed.
