Let Me In

A Sad Story

"What was their answer?"

I sat in my room thinking about everything and why it was happening. Its like trying to understand the meaning of life. Then a reply of today's events played through my head.

Flashback

"They wont allow it" Alec told us. So all of that for nothing.

"Cant we persuade them or negotiate find middle ground?" I asked, I was desperate for this to work.

"No they made their decision final, there is no way to get the cup from Valentine" Alec looked down disappointed and lost. I marched away and left the institute.

I walked the streets for what seemed like hours until I stopped at the end of the pier. I shouted and screamed, cursed the Clave and everyone else. I went through a lot when I was away, I got told to betray a valuable ally but went against them. I got beaten for that and treated harshly. After that I wanted and had to prove to them that I was the best and was worthy to be called a shadowhunter. It wasnt long before I heard footsteps behind me.

"Y/N!!! oh thank god ur alright, everyone's been worried sick" Izzy ran up to me and engulfed me in a hug. I hugged back and then I lost it, everything that had been pent up just came out. "Hey ssshhh it's alright it's alright" Izzy soothed.

After a few minutes I stopped crying and calmed down we headed back to the institute.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Yeah I do, just dont tell Jace I cant have him worrying over me right now" I begged. She seemed to understand and we walked through the doors. At that moment everyone came over asking if I was alright and where I was.

"I just had to clear my head that's all" they seemed to back off but Jace wasnt having any of it.

"Just tell me what's wrong, I feel helpless if ur like this and I don't know what's wrong, please" I nodded and promised to tell them later.

End of flashback

I walked out of my room and found Alec, Jace, Izzy, Clary, the warlock and Sebastian? in the meeting room. I entered the room and sat next to Izzy, the others looked at me and were preparing themselves for what I was going to say.

After I told them everything, I was holding back the tears while Clary was shedding a few along with Izzy, Alec kept his composure and his sparkly boyfriend gave me the sympathetic look, Sebastian stood at the back of the room silent but his eyes were filled with hatred and anger and gave me chills and Jace tried to keep it together but eventually got up and gave me the biggest hug and kept muttering 'sorry' over and over again. I knew he was blaming himself but he wasnt there so he couldnt do anything to stop it.
I headed back to my room and was stopped by someone shouting my name. I turned to see Sebastian jogging up to me.

"Hey what's up?"

"Uh well I was wondering if you would want uh maybe if ur not busy we could uh..." he was stuttering and I found it cute. Wait.. did i just say that.

"Yes, I would love to hang out with you if that's what ur trying to say" he looked taken back but smiled instantly.

"We could be like those mundanes in movies and go get some coffee maybe?"

"I would like that very much thank you" we bid our goodbyes and went our separate ways. That night I went to sleep with a smile on my face and happier than ever.
