I walked up to the front door of JB's parents mansion, almost tripping on the step - like I do everytime. Fiddling with my hair and pulling my dress down slightly, I entered the password into the secruity system and pushed the door open, the blast of too-loud music hitting me instantly. As I walked through the corridor trying to find someone, everyone around me was swigging bottles of alcohol, and I'm pretty sure I could hear some strange noises upstairs in the bedrooms.
"Tay!" someone yelled from behind me. Spinning around I saw Marvin walking towards me, a drink in each hand.
"Hey Marv!" I smiled as he handed me one of them. "Thanks."
"How come you're late? Not like you to be late to a party!" he laughed, signalling for me to walk with him.
"Dad broke down on the way home from work." I replied, following him through the crowds.
"Hmm, sounds like your Dad. Come on, the rest of them are in here." He grabbed my arm so he didnt lose me as we battled our way through the dance floor. I spotted Aston's snapback and Ori's trilby over the heads of drunken dancers, I'd recognise them a mile off.
"TAYLOR! You're here! Finally, we can start Spin the Bottle now!" said Oritsé, pulling me into the group.
"Already?" I laughed. It was kind of like our party tradition.
"Yes!" said JB, grinning.
We ran down into the basement, locking the door behind us. Jay took the last sip of his beer and put the bottle in the middle as we all sat down in a circle on the cold concrete floor.
"Alphabetical order, you're first Anderson." laughed Reesh, adjusting his hat slightly.
Rolling my eyes I leant forward and spun the green bottle of Carling. It spun for what seemed like forever, (my fault for being overenthusiastic). Slowly it ground to a hault, facing towards Aston. We'd done this before, it was no big deal anymore. I leant forward and kissed his lips quickly before pulling back.
"That wasn't a kiss!" laughed Marvin.
"Pretty sure it was..." Aston mumbled.
"Do it again for 5 seconds we'll let you off, okay?" said JB.
"Fine." I sighed.
I kissed him again and held it for 5 seconds, which wasn't as awkward as I was expecting.
"Satisfied?"
"Yeah, s'all good. my turn!" Milly yelled. We all knew she was praying for it to land on Marvin... And with her luck, it did.
She tried not to grin as she moved over and kissed him, whilst we all sat in the background and counted 5 seconds.
"OOO!" whistled Aston, making me nudge him a bit too hard in the ribs. He knows that she fancies the pants off him, and he also swore down to never mention it infront of anyone.
Marvin shuffled back into his place and stared at the floor. Clearly the feeling was NOT mutual.
We played for about half an hour before we decided to go back up to the party, because everyone would be wondering where we were and why the host had ditched. Aston, Milly and I went to dance while Oritsé, Marvin and JB went their seperate ways into the crowd.
