LINDSEY DUNBAR
Almost all night Liam, Hayden, and I went out to look for Mason. We turned up with nothing. The next day we went over to Scott's house, Scott was still upstairs in his room and the rest of us were gathered in the kitchen.
"My dad's got an APB out..." Stiles tells us, "For a 5'8" 16-year-old?" Kira asks. "I recommended nine-foot tall rampaging werewolf," Stiles said, I rolled my eyes. "It still might not be him," Liam says, "But, Hayden's at the school looking," Liam tells us. "I can keep checking the woods," Malia suggests, "My mom can check all hospitals in the county," we hear Scott say as he walks in to the kitchen. "We can find him," Scott says.
"What happens then?" I ask, "We figure out a way to save him," Scott tells me. "Okay, where else could we look?" Lydia asks, "Let's ask Corey," Scott says. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, Scott looks back and reaches his hand out. And Corey becomes visible, "Wait. Wait. It's not my fault. They took him and I couldn't do anything. They took him-" Scott cut him off. "Who?" he asks, "The Dread Doctors," Corey responds.
We were now at the school, and Scott had an idea. Liam and I didn't really like the idea. I was nervous, my heart was pounding like crazy and I didn't know why. "How stupid are we to be doing this?" Liam asks as we walk down the stairs, "We're not stupid. We're desperate," Scott says. "Same thing," I shrug, "How desperate?" Liam asks. We stop at the locker room door, "Incredibly desperate," Scott answers. Then we go in, and there they were.
Theo smirked over at us, while Tracy just stood there. We went in, "I told you we'd end up on the same side," Theo says. My heart is still racing, and I'm hoping Liam and Scott don't hear it. Especially Theo, since I have a feeling that is why my heart is beating like crazy.
"How about I punch you in the balls to remind you that we're not?" my brother sassed, Theo chuckles. "I love this kid," Theo says, "I don't," Tracy responds. I rolled my eyes at Tracy, "We know you're not on our side, Theo. You said you wanted to help Lydia, but you left Eichen with something else, didn't you?" Scott asked. "You mean the mask? Are you worried about that?" Theo asks, "Did you put it on?" Scott asks. No one said anything, "Who did you see?" Scott asked.
"Not Mason," Theo answers, "What's that mean? It's not him?" Liam asks. "It probably means he's a lost cause," Tracy says, Liam and I glare at her. "We all want the same thing. We want Mason back," Theo says, "Yeah, but the difference is that we want him back alive," Scott tells him. "Well I'm open to compromise," Theo says as he steps closer to Scott, and even though he wasn't even standing in front of me my heart skipped a beat. What the hell is going on with me? Why am I acting this way? This is usually where I make a sarcastic or threatening remark at Theo, but instead I'm just standing there.
I'm sure if Liam asks what was wrong, he'll keep on asking until I give him a straight answer. But the thing is... I don't know what the answer is!
"Lin, come on. We gotta go," Liam broke me from my thoughts, I looked up and I see that Scott and Liam were halfway out the door. I sigh and nod, I start walking. "Hey, Lin," I hear Theo say, I stopped. Scott and Liam were already out the locker room and all of a sudden I wanted them to come back for me and save me.
