Chapter Three
(Josephine)
"Alison! Stop running!" I shouted at her, she keeps running, holding something of mine, as she continues to giggle while I chase after her.
She start to cross the road without looking left and right. She keeps giggling, until the sound of a loud honk of a truck, running over my baby sister, made my heart and lungs stop functioning.
The sound of her giggles faded, and only the sound of my sobs coming can be heard as I slowly walk closer to her. Kneeling down next to her bloodied body, hugging her body pulling it closer to me as I cried. I don't care if blood stains on my clothes. I just let my sister die.
Opening my eyes to see a dark room. I'm in my room, in Cambridge. Staring at the ceiling, as tears starts running down my face without knowing.
I silently sob on my bed, and the nightmare keeps repeating in my head, and I couldn't stop thinking about her horrible death. This is my fault.
I need to do something. That will take away the pain of that memory. But I need to sleep for tomorrow's events.
I closed my eyes and try to get some sleep. Try to not repeat the nightmare in my head.
Waking up eight in the morning. The first thing I did was grabbing my phone and texted my parents, telling them I'm all right, and that I'll be taking a walk with Joey later. It's like three in the afternoon there, maybe they're busy, especially my parents that's why they are not answering my messages.
I shrug it off, putting down my phone on my nightstand. Sighing, I need to start my day. Lifting myself up from my bed, and start making the bed. Rolling the curtains open, letting the sun through the room to have a light in this dark room.
It's pretty cold in here. Turning on the heater up as I pick something to wear for today's walk. All I brought is sweaters, jumpers, sweatpants, jeans, leggings and few dresses that some have sleeves because they said that we'll be having few events for students taking any course they get. And I picked some of these clothes for a reason also.
Grabbing a jumper and jeans out, bringing it with me to the bathroom as I did what I need to do. I brushed my teeth, put a bit of make-up on my face and arm to hide the scars that are still processing to heal.
When I'm done, I sat down on my bed, and put on my shoes. Checking time and it's almost nine. I sigh as I wait for Joey to knock on my door.
My stomach grumbles because I haven't eaten anything since I woke up. A knock on my door signalling me that she's here, grabbing my purse and phone with me.
Opening the door to reveal herself wearing same clothing as mine. She grins and pointing at me, saying that we have the same type of clothing. I chuckle, shaking my head at her.
"Come on, I'm hungry." I smile and closing my door.
We both walk down the hall, through out of the building and start our walk on the way to Starbucks for breakfast, we'll be having some coffee and cake for breakfast. Also chat about the upcoming events later. Starbucks is pretty far, but it's really worth it at the end. Although, I need a bit of exercise, and it also calms my mind from the nightmare I had.
While we're walking our way there. We passed by few stores, some hasn't open yet, and some are starting to open. We also passed by students walking around just like what we are doing. Some are jogging, seems having fun.
