Chapter Eight

(Josephine)

She looks beautifully elegant from where I'm standing. She closes her door so effortlessly as she glances towards our direction, and it made my eyes widen and heart thumping inside my chest.

Oh, my God. I'm really going to meet his entire royal family. Today, and I don't have any other choices right now. The Duchess—his mother—saw him carrying me last night.

He doesn't even tell me what happened last night yet, and I have to make an excused for Joey if I'm happen to be late to class.

I don't know anything about his family. I am completely brain washed at the moment when we pass by the princess, who's standing to my right with a huge, sweet smile on her face. She is beautiful, and she's only eighteen, same age as me.

She got light makeup done, and neatly straightened floral dress. Her brown, curled to perfection hair is down onto her shoulder.

"Good morning, brother, and Robert." She says to the prince beside me, on my left.

I glance up to him, and see a frown marked on his face. "There's nothing good this morning, Madison." He mutters and continues to walk down the hall. Robert bowed to her, before following him behind.

He is so rude to everyone this morning. Even if it's not morning, he'll always be rude because that's what he do. I hear the princess deeply sighed beside me, but keeps her posture.

Her attention turns to me as her sweet smile come across again onto her lips. "Hello, good morning, you are?" She says.

I snapped myself out, and try to keep me not panicking in front of the Princess of Cambridge in early morning in their palace.

"Hello, good morning, your royal highness," I said, and curtsy for respect. "I'm Josephine," I tell her my name and return a small smile.

"Josephine, you're with my brother?" She asks, then starts walking. I follow her down the hall, and seeing Hero and Robert are strolling down the long hallway. This palace is huge, I have to stick with either of them.

Her question confuses me, but I nodded instead then let my head hang low. "Do you work for him?"

"No." I immediately reply, and it took her by surprised from my fast answer. Oh, God.

"No, your highness. I don't work for him..." I take it back, and put respect this time. I am so screw. This is his fault for bringing me here.

"It's fine, Josephine." She lowly chuckles, and waves her hand. I mentally sighed in relief that she's fine from my defense, but it's still not okay for me.

"So, why you're here?" She asks as we turned left.

"Uhm... I actually don't know what I'm doing here," I admitted as she nods along to my words. Then, I continue. "Your bro—I mean, the Prince—brought me here, unconsciously. I was totally wasted, and the Duchess saw him, carrying me last night."

I tell her the little story I know so far. While we're walking, she was stunned when I finished. Did I said something wrong? Oh, God. I am so, so screwed. I need a hole for me to sink me in now.

"Your highness?" I gulp.

"Oh," She manages.

"Did I said something wrong? I'm so, so sorry—"

"No, you didn't," She smiles at me, then softly grasp my wrist. I hide the wince down my throat. "It's just... He never brought someone here, home and late at night."
