~ chap 3- invitation ~

KENZIE P.O.V

"Uh, is everything alright Johnny?" I ask him, and there's no answer.

"Come with me." He says, and I follow him outside.

"Can you make this quick please? We have to get back to Annie and-" I say but he puts his hand on my mouth, to shut me up.

"It's Nadia's and I's fifth month anniversary today and I'm planning to make a party dedicated to her. So, I'm inviting you there." He says, and I look at him like he's crazy.

"What?" He asks me. I absolutely hate parties. I hated it after I went to one which was two years ago. Long story short, I embarrassed myself in front of everyone basically.

"I hate parties John. Remember?" I answer him.

"Shit right. But can you go for me? I invited Annie and Asher." He pleads. There was a long silence and after a while, I nod.

I hope I made the right decision.

"Thank you so fucking much Kenz! You don't know how much this means to me!" He exclaims, hugging me. I see Nadia come to our direction and she glares at me.

I let go of Johnny and he turns around, and kisses Nadia's forehead.

"Hey babe. Let's get to the cafeteria?" Nadia asks him and Johnny nods.

"Kenz, I'm sorry but can I hang out with Nadia? She's here as an exchange student and she's leaving next week. So I wanna-" Johnny looks at me and I put my hand on his mouth.

"Johnny, I understand. I'll stay with Annie and Asher." I say, letting go of his mouth then they go their way to the cafeteria and I head to Annie and Asher.

It's been probably ten minutes I've been sitting with Annie and Asher constantly flirting with each other and I really feel like I third wheel.

I check the time on my phone and see that there's thirty minutes left for lunch.

"Hey guys? I'm going to get some fresh air okay? I'll see you guys later." I say, and Annie nods then I head out of the cafeteria.

But on my way out, I see Nadia and Johnny kissing and that makes me cry.

I run to the garden-like place then sit down on one of the benches.

I put my legs close to my chest then I put my chin down to my knees and someone sits beside me.

I sit down properly then wipe my tears.

"Hey... What's wrong?" A guy sits closer to me and I stay silent.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't-" he starts but I told him what happened.

"I'm so sorry.... You're Mackenzie Ziegler right?" He asks me and I nod. When he asked that I exactly knew who it was.

Isaak Presley.

I knew who he was because girls talk about him but I don't really know what he really is honestly.

"You're going to the party later?" He asks me, and I nod.

"Will you be my date?" He asks me and it takes me a while to process what was happening.

After a while, I nodded.
