Despite his efforts, Bakugo Katsuki had been thinking of his match against the plant girl the rest of his day anyway. He'd been mulling over that last part again and again. He almost lost, because what? He couldn't think straight? Because some stupid girl messed with his head? Bullshit. It had to be something else. He couldn't possibly feel anything for her. Anything other than hate. His one mistake of getting too close to her almost cost him his victory. And so it crossed his mind that Kaiyo was oustandingly strong. Katsuki struggled to face that reality. It wasn't the only thing that bothered him today. That half-assed bastard didn't use his fire on him, but he used it on Deku of all people! Icyhot and the stupid plant were friends. From that, Bakugo concluded that they could go and be annoying shitheads together for all he cared. If he saw those damned yellow flowers another time today it would be too soon.

Really, it was inevitable.
It happened a few blocks away from UA. They saw eachother again while walking home. Her eyes were still a little puffy from crying, but that didn't stop him. He grabbed the collar of her shirt and lifted her up so she had to stand on her tiptoes. Their eyes met, angry red against a deep green. Kaiyo couldn't fathom what he was upset about now. Katsuki had already won. He'd already taken that from her, what else did he want? Kaiyo hopelessly held his wrist with both of her hands and tried to pry away from him to no avail. She whined and frowned like a child. Her face was usually bright and smiling, but right now she looked like she was about to cry again.

" K-katsuki, let go of me. " she said, sniffling between shallow breaths.
Bakugo softened his grip a little. The sun was setting and they cast long shadows across the sidewalk.

" You're not weak. " He said, eyebrows furrowed like usual.

The blonde's speech was slow and quieter than usual. Like it was extremely painful for him to say such a thing. His crimson eyes glittered in the losing light. Once again, tears began streaming down her cheeks. Katsuki let go of her. Kaiyo hid her flushed face behind her hands.
She looked pathetic.

" But i lost! i lost to you, okay..? P-please dont look at me like that. You're so strong, and you, I just- You're so g-good at everything! And i didn't even get past the second round. "

Her shoulders shook from the sobbing, and, as gently as Katsuki could manage (it wasn't very gentle at all), he pried her hands away from her face and replaced them with one of his own. His other hand gripped her shoulder. She was too busy breaking down to comment on it, but she dug her fingernails into his wrists.

" y-you were right. you were always right! i know im stupid. i-i.. i dont know what i- it was- it was dumb of me to think that i could- that you'd- that you would want to be, m-my, f-friend- "

His grip tightened. Hers waned.

" shut up, Kaiyo. "

Bakugo resisted the urge to yell at her. He exhaled.

" You almost fucking beat me, and thats still what you think? You really are stupid. Stop saying that goddamn bullshit. It's all lies.
You're not a liar, right? "

She shook her head quickly. Of course Kaiyo would never lie.

" You're not fucking weak.
If you're weak and i almost lost to you, what would that make me?! You better not say that shit again, or i'll kill you. "
