December Night

We laugh at the things you say, we smile and we cry reading the words on my page.

December nights the lights are low and our shadows are dancing, we sing along, messing up the words, tripping and falling.

I see you reading the book I was holding tight while sleeping the other night, you're so into it and just like that I know you're here to stay.

Every page of my diary says your name, whispering the secrets they want me to say, turning on their own as if they want you to know that I've never met a purer heart, and I hope that I get to keep a part.

A gift wrapped in silver may bring a smile to my face but every moment with you makes my heart smile 'cause it's a forever kind of case.

Winters are cold but the hearts are warm.
December night writes a beautiful song.
