Anticipation

Look at you shooting your shot, you don't have to, I look for you as soon as I know you're somewhere close by.

See you standing alone looking me in the eyes, you don't have to, you can come and stand right next to me, promise I won't mind.

Searching for words to say, you don't have to, say anything you want, the words that you say, I wanna hear them all.

Feel your eyes on me in a crowded room, you don't have to stand and stare when we can leave anytime you want.

Trying to hide what's clear as day in your eyes, you don't have to, I'm good with words, I know how to read between the lines.

Smiling at what they say, I wish they were you, no they don't smile like you, they don't even listen like you do, they're just planning a reply while they nod mindlessly, disregarding my words, so with best regards I nod my head and find my way back to you.

It's funny enough now that we get along so well, impossible to hide things when you look at me that way, you know how to play with my mind, bad enough that you spill the beans when I give you that fake glare and a knowing smile.

I love every single word that I write, even the ones that make me cry, I love a hot cup of coffee and a book by my bedside.
I love letters and diaries, and I love winter nights, but most of all I love honest eyes, generous smiles, simple words, candid conversations, handwritten letters and someone I can walk back to with a smile on my face and words in my mind.

_

I love writing about someone who makes my heart smile.
