I've got to give an answer

I wake up the next morning and get ready for church. I'm a proud Catholic but I don't think I can serve mass today. I slip on a dress after taking a shower. Some low shoes will do. I sling my bag over my shoulder.

I walk downstairs and see everyone ready. "Good morning family."

"Good morning sweety." Papa says.

"Good morning dear." Mama also greets.

"Hey sis. How was your date with"-

"It wasn't a date."

"You went on a date?" Dad asks.

"You still didn't let me meet him and you went on a date with him." Mom kinda whines.

"It wasn't a date. It was just a hangout. To get to know each other."

"Sure. Next thing we know you'd be kissing as friends too." Rosalio says sarcastically and I slap his arm.

I make some coffee for myself. Mom and Rosalio also have their breakfast. Josh takes cereal but dad takes nothing. He never eats before mass. I'm glad he doesn't force us to do same.

Soon enough we're all set and leave the house. After church I head straight home not going for choir practice and call B.

I haven't really spoken to her since I ditched her. That's really bad of me, I know.

"Hey. Are you at church?" I just realis-ed that I could have caught her at the wrong time.

"No. Didn't go today. Why'd you call? To make plans and ditch me for a guy again?"

"I said I was sorry. I really am. You know how forgetful I am. You of all people should get me. I needed someone to talk to but it seems like I'm clearly not forgiven so see you tomorrow."

"Wait. I'll be there in 20." she says and hangs up.

Exactly twenty minutes after I hear the front door open and a few seconds later she's in my room. She sits on the study desk while I sit on the bed.

"Listen-"
"I just wanted to say-"
We both say at the same time.

"You go first." I say

"I'm sorry. I should have been more understanding. I should have acknowledged that you just forgot and that it was an honest mistake. I can't have you all to myself. Please forgive me."

"I need to apologise for forgetting all about our plans. I should have remembered our code. Hoes before Bros. Sorry."

We both look at each other. She comes to the bed and we share a hug.

"So, what happened with Oswald?"

"How did you-" she gives me that 'I know what I know' look and I shake my head.

"That's exactly why I called you. Os likes me. Or so he told me."

"Wait. How did it happen?. I want the details girl." So I tell her everything.

"You mean to tell me the waiter was flirting with you and that got Oswald angry? Then he declared his undying love for you?"

"Like B, like. That word is too strong to be used anyhow."

"You get what I mean." she says dismissively. "And what did you say?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Nothing"

"Are you crazy, girl? Do you want to kill the poor guy? How'd you feel when you tell a guy you've liked him since forever and he says nothing?"
