Chapter 3

Aiden's outfit for exploring

Today was the day. My friends and I were going to go to the woods also known as Witches Forest. They were starting to get anxious and scared but I was bouncing off the walls. Driving this rental car was so bad and I could barely see anything. 

The fog up here on the mountain was insane and it was about to make me wreck the car but considering that I am the best driver out of everyone here I was the best option. As we were arriving I heard my friends talking about something without me hearing so I decided to break check them.

The rental car came to a sudden stop and my friends lurched forward. 

"Whatcha guys talking about?" They looked at me from the back. (They all sat in the back and my friends are weird so I didn't question it)

"Nothing just discussing sleeping arrangements." I looked at Jay and nodded before driving the rest of the way there. 

When we arrived at the entrance, I saw my friends look at each other and they shouted something that I didn't quite understand before darting in a direction. I locked my car and grabbed the camera before chasing after them. Ashley was easy to pass but that's because she doesn't really play any sports and isn't very fast in terms of running. 

I was catching up to Jay and Lucas and saw that they started to slow down before coming to a complete stop. I turned to face them to see them all grinning at me. I pointed the camera at them and said, "Why do you guys look so evil?"

"Because we said 'first one to where the main road splits has to sleep in a tree and keep guard," I frowned at Ashley before turning the camera to face me. 

"Guys I've been tricked. This isn't fair I didn't hear what you said and you guys know that I'm competitive." They all shrugged and after that we continued to find our camp for the night. 

I found a nice clearing that would be easy to find again and had Jay follow me to the car to help me with the gear. After grabbing everything that we needed and heading back to the camp, I decided that I would do a perimeter check to see how everything was. 

The boys set up the camp and Ashley and I went exploring so that we could get an understanding of what the area looked like in the daylight. After a while we heard shouting and headed back to camp to see what was wrong. As we arrived, we saw the boys freaking out about a snake in the tent. Ashley started to scream and I giggled. 

"Guys chill it's just a snake." I grabbed a stick and walked into the tent. 

I put the stick on the snake's head and held it down so that I could pick it up. Once I picked it up I walked towards my friends, "Guys I want you to meet Gary. He wants to say hi with his mouth."

My friends ran away and screamed at me to put it down and I guess we were beginning to get really loud because these guys on dirt bikes drove up to us. I was still holding the snake and my friends were still trying to run away so we probably looked crazy. 

"Hey what's up sexy? Why are you holding a snake?" I frowned at the biker guy and threw the snake into the woods a good distance. 

"One don't call me sexy and two none of your damn business." Him and his friend grinned.

"Oooo she's sassy too. Does the sexy and sassy lady have a name?" I grinned.

"Yeah its Trouble. Get the fuck outta here before I call the cops for harassment." They held their hands up and started their bikes before leaving. 

"Fucking assholes." My friends were frozen completely still and I had to actually wave a hand in front of their faces to bring them back. They shook their heads and looked at me again before giving me a hug.

"Why are you guys hugging me?" I felt Ashley let go of me.

"We are hugging you cause you are a badass and because we love you." I grinned at her. 

I pulled out of the hug and went over to my phone in the tent to see that it was now time to explore. I grinned and grabbed my stuff so that we could go explore. I grabbed my camera from Lucas who was talking about something and interrupted them to tell them to get off their lazy asses.

"Let's go explore in the dark now and get what we can see and hear on the camera." I pointed the camera at every little thing that spooked my friends. 

I gave everyone each their own cameras and told them to go their own ways. I continued my way through the woods venturing off of the main path and walking down a smaller path. Nothing had scared me so far and I kept getting texts from the others complaining that this was too scary and that they were thinking about heading back. I rolled my eyes. They were such babies sometimes but I can understand why they're scared. This place was creepy in its own way.

I was walking toward some sort of light thinking that it was my friends and me being the dumbass I am I turned my flashlight off and hid so that I could scare them. As the person got closer I jumped out at them and screamed really loudly causing them to scream as well.

It wasn't until it was too late that I realized I had scared a completely random dude and that he was probably having a heart attack due to my idiocy. I shook that thought away and turned my flashlight back only to see one hell of a man. It was Colby Brock. 

"Hey man sorry I scared you I thought you were one of my friends." He was still breathing slightly heavy but nodded and smiled at me anyway.

"It's fine I just wasn't expecting that. I was chasing this shadow and I saw it come this way. Was I chasing you?"

"Not that I know of. I was walking towards you so I'm guessing it was someone else, sorry."

He was about to respond when all of a sudden Jay jumps out of nowhere and lands on my back. Me being me I decided to flip him off of my back and put his arm behind his back.

"Jay what the actual fuck are you doing? What happened to going to the campsite with everyone else?" I let go of him and he sighed.

"We wanted to see if we could scare you but apparently we can't. The other two are back there and since I was the least afraid out of them I went to look for you." I nodded and helped him off of the ground.

"Well nice try. Anyway, we were just talking about how he was chasing someone did you see anyone?" Jay nodded his head.

"I was walking around when I came across your campsite but you guys didn't see me. You saw one of the biker dudes that we had harass us earlier." Colby nodded.

"You mean harassed me right? Cause y'all did nothing to help." Jay sighed. 

"Yeah sorry about that."

"Whatever we'll talk about this later."

"It was nice to officially meet you, Colby," I said as I was walking away with Jay.

"You too... wait I didn't catch your name?"

I grinned, "Aiden Bradshaw..."

With that I walked back to camp to find the other two asleep and decided that I needed to sleep as well. I crawled up into my tree and went to bed.
