"Javert, I felt a kick" she said excitedly. Javert grinned and kneeled down in front of her. He put both his palms on her enormous stomach and gasped.
"I feel it" he mumbled.
"We should really pick out names, Javert" she said after he had gotten up from the floor. Rose wrapped her arm around his waist affectionately and she caught him smiling.
"It doesn't take a genius to pick out a child's name. I could pick it when he or she is born" he said.
"You could, but I want to pick a name now. I have less then a month left" she whined and sat down on the couch.
"If it's a boy then Hugo or Pierre" he stated.
"I like Hugo" muttered Rose while nodding.
"Of course you do, since when have I picked out something that wasn't good" he remarked sarcastically. Rose couldn't help but laugh.
"Well humans come in two genders, Javert, so we should actually pick out a girl's name too" she said. Javert snorted and sat down next to her on the couch.
"Marianne or maybe Lilith" he said while scratching his chin.
"Lilith" said Rose and clapped her hands excitedly.
"Hugo and Lilith!" He shouted. Rose clapped again and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"What do you think the child will be like?" Asked Rose.
"Well if it's a girl, then she most probably will look like her mother. Then she will be the most beautiful girl alive" he said and Rose blushed furiously, "If it's a boy, then I will teach him everything I know. I will love him with all my heart so he could never have a childhood like mine" he finished. Rose smiled and kissed his cheek affectionately.
"Do you think we would make good parents?" She asked and climbed into his lap.
"Both of us have no experience with children so God help us. But, I am certain that we will be fine" he said and laughed. Rose joined in his laughter and buried her face in his neck.
"I thought you would have wanted to name the child after one of your friends" he said.
"I thought so too but they are my past. And although I could never forget them, I don't want to keep reminding myself of them" she whispered. Javert pressed his lips to hers and she wrapped her arms around her neck. She smiled against his lips when she felt him tug at her bottom lip with his teeth. When they pulled away both their lips were swollen and she put her head on his chest.
"Dr.Michel told me that we should try talking to the child" she said randomly.
"What?" Asked Javert. "You mean we should talk to it while it's in there?" He asked incredulously and pointed his finger at her stomach.
"Yes, it wouldn't hurt to try" she mumbled. He sat her on the couch and kneeled down between her legs. He put his mouth near to her stomach and put both palms on it.
"I felt a kick" he said excitedly. Rose laughed and stroked his cheek affectionately.
"I don't know what to do, so I'll just talk. I am certain that you won't remember this conversation when you're born but apparently I am supposed to do this" he started "So you're supposed to come out anytime now and I am excited to meet you. I think you're going to be a lucky child. We're not really rich but we're not poor either. You will have parents that love you so much whether you are going to be Hugo or Lilith, we will love you. I love you and your mother so much, little one, so much and I will never leave you" he finished, he kissed her stomach and held Rose's hand in his. Throughout his speech he felt multiple kicks and his heart swelled with each one."I love you so much, Javert" she said quietly. Quietly enough that he barely heard it. But he did. And he replied by kissing her swollen stomach once more.
