Chapter 12.

"I'm proud of you."

Cheryl raised an eyebrow at that, turning towards her girlfriend in question. They'd just got back from Betty's, Cheryl having successfully persuaded Polly to let her see her niece and nephew on a weekly basis. What could she say? She was a wonder with words when need be.
Cheryl felt her heart flutter at the words. It was rare that she was ever told that someone was proud of her, it wasn't like her mother or father cared much for her growing up.

"For what, my love?" All the redheads attention on her girlfriend as the brunette sat on the end of Cheryl's bed. A sweet, loving smile spread across her face as she watched her girlfriend with pride.

"Well, you never thought she'd let you see them...now here we are. You plucked the courage to ask, babe." Veronica boasted, "So there for, I'm proud of you."

Cheryl tried to hide the blush as heat rushed to her face, but being pale...and ginger, sudden redness showed easily.

"I haven't been this happy in a really long time." Cheryl confessed, eyes meeting the warm brown ones that were trained on her. Maybe after a tough growing up, after all that she'd been through it was to get to this moment of happiness she shared with Veronica.

"Want to hear something strange?" Veronica asked, receiving a nod from her girlfriend. "No one has ever came into my life - not even Betty...or another person and made me feel how I feel about you…"

Cherly remained quiet for a little bit, Veronica getting to her feet to come closer to the woman she adored so much.

"And how do you feel about me?"

The question was quiet, but Veronica heard it clearly, a little smile dancing on her face. The brunette stepped forward, hands running down her girlfriends arms until they reached her hands; Cheryl did her best to not shiver in want. 

"I absolutely, most definitely…" Veronica teased, Cheryl holding and awaiting every word. "Am head over heels in love with you, Cheryl Blossom."

A million emotions flooding through Cheryl's mind and body, a smile that matched her girlfriends on her face, the rushing feeling of her heart beating rapidly in her chest, the overwhelming sense of love. Cheryl moved swiftly as she moved her hands to curl one around Veronica's waist, pulling the brunette flush against her.

"Oh-" 

Cheryl's lips met with Veronica's before she could say anymore, the kiss soft and gentle, mouths moving perfectly against one another. Cheryl craved the taste of Veronica's kisses every second of the day, wishing this was all they could do. The shiver she'd suppressed coursed down her spine when she felt Veronica trace her arms, every touch feeling like she was trailing fire along her skin.

Cheryl slid her tongue along Veronica's bottom lip, wanting to use her tongue - which Veronica happily granted, the kisses becoming sloppier as their kisses got more desperate. Even though Veronica hadn't barely touched her anywhere yet, she could feel the pool of wetness that had formed in her underwear. Cheryl had unintentionally managed to manoeuvre the smaller woman to the edge of the bed; the pair nearly tripped as Veronica almost fell backwards. The pair broke apart with a breathy laugh.

"I just so happen to be in love with you too, Veronica Lodge."

As much as Veronica wanted to let her mind scream in happiness about it, she had other plans for her screams. The woman climbing onto the queen sized bed, gripping the ends of Cheryl's jacket to pull her onto the bed with her, connecting their lips the second she was close enough. Cheryl knew where this was going and she knew her body was ready and excited for it. Tossing her jacket aside as she shrugged it off, she grazed her hands over her girlfriend's body, smirking through the kiss as she felt the goosebumps rise on Veronica's skin.
