Why are so many of my chapter titles related to food, wtf?

Light filtered through the kitchen window; the sun finally high enough to reach into spaces darkened for hours. A sizzling sound filled the air accompanied with the enticing smell of bacon as it was pushed around an oily pan on the stove. A couple of cooked eggs where sitting on a plate on the counter, still hot and steaming, the edges turned brown and the yoke ready to be popped open. Distractedly, the red-haired male at the stove hummed the tuned that was stuck in his head that morning; something that he had heard on the radio at some point and he couldn't remember the name of it. The aroma of the crispy meat and cooked eggs made his mouth water despite eating his own with toast about half-an-hour before. Even if he was inevitably still hungry, this was for somebody else.

Two empty used plates, one his own, were piled up beside the sink, waiting to be washed up. The other plate, which was smaller, belonged to Akane, who ate breakfast with him that morning before he dropped her at preschool.

Kirishima smiled to himself as he recalled the little girl's bright smile. And somehow, she was his child. She was so beautiful and happy all the time. In a few ways she looked like a mini Bakugou with her similar spikey hair and crimson eyes. His alpha protectiveness was already playing up for her and he couldn't wait to spend more of his time with her. As his family.

A sound from the hallway shifted his attention and he found the blonde-haired omega standing just outside his bedroom door. His hazy red eyes flickered up to meet his own gaze for a moment but soon returned to the ground as he took a few steps into the kitchen.

"What are you making?" Bakugou's rough voice was soft when he spoke. "Smells good."

"Bacon and eggs." Kirishima answered him briefly, surveying the blonde out of the corner of his eye. Bakugou's face was no-longer as flushed as it had been in the last couple of days, even if his completion was still pale. Kirishima noticed that Bakugou had changed from pyjamas to cloths, now wearing a loose pair of grey tracksuit pants and a large black sweat shirt, which hung from his frame and revealed his fair shoulders and collar bone. He must have been feeling cold, despite the even temperature. At least, even if his body still shook a little, the omega could stand on his own two feet.

Piling the cooked bacon onto the plate with the eggs, Kirishima pointed his spatula towards the table. "Sit down. You'll be hungry, right?"

Bakugou only hummed in response and made his way of the table to sit down like Kirishima had asked him to.

As the alpha grabbed a plate for him, he couldn't help but glance at the feverish omega at every moment he could. Kirishima could hardly see his eyes as he stared unconsciously at the table top, his ash blonde hair messy with sleep and falling over his face. He wanted to reach out a touch him so badly it hurt, to run his hands through his spikey bed-hair and feel his pale warm skin. But he knew better than to touch Bakugou without permission, remembering his reaction a couple of days before.

He laid down a plate in front of the omega and quietly asked how much he wanted. The blonde was quick to dig into the food as soon as he got it, murmuring a soft 'thank you for the food' before eating. Kirishima pulled up another chair to sit opposite the blonde-haired male, leaning on the table as he watched the Bakugou eat in silence.

The red-haired alpha wanted to talk to Bakugou about everything now that he was well enough. It wasn't enough to leave it as it was. He could couldn't just leave it with them thinking endlessly about the day he had shown up to Bakugou. He may have confessed his own feelings about everything to the feverish blonde but he had nothing from the omega's own mouth. And he wanted to know it all, as well as how Bakugou felt about him. It didn't matter how much he feared his answers, it didn't matter if they were painful, Kirishima couldn't leave it unanswered.
