{ flashback }
I was sitting in my highchair next to Harry, we were both giggling with eachother because daddy was pulling funny faces at us.
A flash went off as we were giggling causing us to start crying.
Mum saw this and scooped us both up in her arms.
"Hey you're okay darlings, there's no need to cry. You should be happy, it's you're first birthday!" She cried happily.
Seeing mummy laugh caused us both to smile again.
She put us down on the rug in the living room where uncle Moony and uncle padfoot were playing a game of exploding snap.
Suddenly a pop went off as uncle Moony won the game.
Uncle padfoot wasn't happy but when he saw Harry and I sitting beside him he smiled and put us both on his lap facing him.
"Hey, I know you probably can't understand me, but I want you both to know that even with the war going on, everyone in this house loves you and will protect you" He whispered as we watched him intently.
"I want to show you something" He said as he scooped us into his leather jacket and took us onto the roof of our house.
He began pointing out constellations in the stars and we followed where his finger pointed even if we didn't know where he was looking.
We were up there for an hour before daddy joined us and took me out of padfoots arms and into his.
I fell asleep peacefully to the sound of dad's heart beat and the feeling of him stroking my hair.
{ end of flashback }

I woke up with tears in my eyes as the memory faded out of my head.

It was true, I remembered my first birthday.

Ginny too had woken up and looked at me questionably.

"Elle what's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

"Nothing, nothing at all..." I said with a smile.

"What's up then?" She asked as she took a seat on my bed.

"It was just a memory. I remembered my first birthday... just a few months before..." I trailed off.

She moved so she was sitting beside me and hugged me.

"Tell me about it" she said softly as she let go.

"It was wonderful! Harry and I were sitting next to eachother in highchairs with dad pulling funny faces at us until we got startled by a camera going off. Mum picked us up and whispered lovely things to us before she put us in the living room with Remus and Sirius. They were playing exploding snap and when Sirius lost he picked us up and took us to the roof to look at the stars. He pointed out all the constellations in sight then dad joined us and I fell asleep in his arms." I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"That does sound great" she replied with a smile.

"Let's go get some breakfast before the boys eat everything" I said and we ran downstairs to see everyone already eating.

"Goodmorning girls, come get some food before it's all gone" Molly said as she put plates in front of us.

We grabbed some bacon and eggs before finishing that quickly and grabbing a blueberry muffin each and going outside.

"You know what I just realised?" Gin asked me.

"What Gin?"

"That for years I've been asking you for advice about your twin brother!"

We laughed and she buried her face in her hands.

"Oh merlin! That's hilarious!" I said as I stopped laughing.

"It's not funny!" She cried but we were both still laughing. "Okay maybe a little bit" she said as we managed to control ourselves.

"Hey Ginny?" We turned to see Fred standing a few meters away from us.

"Yeah?" She called back.

"Can you give us a minute?" He asked as she stood up.

"Sure. I'll just be in our room Elle" she called as she walked away. I nodded.

"Hey" He said softly as he sat down and wrapped his arm around my shoulder pulling me closer.

"Hey" I replied, melting into his touch.

"You know how sorry I am about-" He started but I cut him off.

"Freddie stop. If you hadn't accidentally hit me, I would've learnt all this. Yes I'm sure there was a less violent way but I'm glad it happened."

"You don't understand, what use is finding that out if you'd died! If Percy wasn't there you would be for sure and instead of me holding you right now I'd be at your funeral all because I made a stupid decision" He said sadly.

"Fred dont say stuff like that! Quiddich is a rough game. I know that it is and in my position I constantly have bludgers coming at me, it's part of the game."

"Yeah but I was supposed to be the one protecting you from bludgers not sending them at you." He mumbled.

Before this could turn into a fight I grabbed Freds shirt and pulled him down so that I could kiss him.

I crashed my lips onto his and moved my hand to the back of his neck.

When Fred pulled away he brought my body flush against him in a tight embrace.

"Promise me I'll never loose you" He whispered in my ear giving me the shivers.

"I promise Fred"

"Good" He said as he let me go.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me up from the ground where we walked into the house together.

~ Third Person ~

While Elle enjoyed herself with her friends throughout the night, she was so distracted that she didn't notice the new leaf growing on her golden bracelet.
