~ Silver ~
A few hours after I had woken up from my... sleep, I was thankfully dismissed from the hospital just in time for dinner.
Ginny and I were going to sit together to talk but everyone else didn't want to let us be alone at the moment.
They seem to think that anything could happen at any time. Especially with Draco all mighty over at the Slytherin table sulking about getting beaten up by blood traitors.
"His nose is still broken" George said as he pointed to Draco.
"I must say baby sister, that was quite a nice punch if I do say so myself." Fred exclaimed proudly at his youngest sibling.
"Thankyou. It did feel pretty good."
She said as she continued to eat."You know I punched him last year" Hermoine piped in.
"Yeah but he's got a wonky nose and two black eyes. You should've seen his face when she tore into the compartment yelling, then knocking him unconscious." Harry said as he started laughing. Causing Ginny to blush at the fact that he noticed every moment of it.
"Well I'm glad someone finally beat some sense into him." I said as I continued with my dinner.
"Hey!" Fred, George, Harry, Lee and Ron all yelled "What about us? We beat him senseless because of what he said to you"
"You're right, sorry guys. And thanks for that." I smiled appreciatively at them before taking Ginny away with me to Gryfindore tower.
"Hey did you see the way that Harry was looking at you?" I squealed as I pulled Ginny onto the couch with me.
"Don't get my hopes up, he still likes that Cho Chang girl." She said with a sour expression.
"Hey I'm pretty sure that Cedric Diggery has already asked her to the ball. And because she is like in love with him she'll obviously say yes." I exclaimed as I attempted to raise her spirit.
"Okay but what if he doesn't ask me? There are girls like Romilda Vane and the Patil twins that like him too."
"Both of the Patil twins like him?"
"Yeah I heard them talking about it with that cow Lavender Brown" she snorted as she talked about the three most annoying girls in Gryfindore house.
"If I bring up that you don't have a date yet, before anyone else asks you then I bet he will ask you to the ball. Okay so don't worry about it Ginny."
"You know you really are the best, best friend ever." She exclaimed as she hugged me tightly.
"Oh and Silver what are you going to do? You don't have a date either."
"Don't worry about me. If nobody asks me then I will just stay here and be happy for my best friend finally getting her hero" I said thoughtfully.
"Oh no. If nobody asks you then I'm ditching whoever I am with even if it is Harry and I will spend the night with you"
"And that is why you are also the best friend ever" I said happily.
We saw the portrait swing open revealing Harry and Ron looking glum as they plopped themselves onto the couch with us.
"Why so blue?" Ginny asked them both making them grin a bit in return before going back to going miserable.
"We not only have to find dates to the ball but we have to learn how to dance." They stated sounded exasperated.
"We can teach you!" I said suddenly.
This would be the perfect opportunity for Harry to see Ginny as a partner for the ball and potentially more.
"You two are life savers" Ron stated as he let out the breathe he had been holding.
"Okay we'll start this weekend but I need to go to bed. Night guys." Ginny said as she walked towards the stairs.
"Wait up Ginny I'll come with you. Night boys" I said as I stood up and gave them both a hug goodnight.
Ginny and I remained silent until we were out of ear shot to the boys and as soon as we reached the top step I grabbed her hand and pulled her into my bedroom and onto the bed.
We pulled the curtains and placed a silencing charm over the bed so that nobody could hear us (especially Pavarti Patil)
"Oh merlin Silver are you insane. If I dance with Harry I'll probably step on his feet" she exclaimed nervously.
"Don't you understand, if you teach Harry how to ballroom dance, that'll be alot more personal time being really close to each other. He may even start having feelings for you" I said cheekily as I nudged her side.
"I didn't think of it that way" she said as a smile crept up on her face. "But that means you'll have to dance with my brother" her nose screwed up at that making me laugh.
"If it means that you get to be with Harry then I'll do it for as long as I can. Plus he's not that bad you're just saying that because he's your brother."
"True but have you seen him eating"
"Very true, but he's been my friend since first year. Teaching him to dance isn't that bad."
"Well back to the conversation of who you're going to the ball with" she stated excitedly.
"I told you before that if nobody asks me then I'll just stay here." I really didn't mind if I went to tell ball or not. I don't have a boyfriend or a crush so there isn't any point in going.
"But what about dress shopping. I'm not letting you take me to get a dress while you just watch. And seriously you won't be sitting up in the common room. I know of at least 12 guys off the top of my head that like you." She said in an airy tone.
"Twelve! Who?" I yelled eagerly. I probably don't like any of them like that but it's nice to know that you're wanted.
"Umm let's see... Michael Corner, Zacharias Smith, Seamus, Neville, Dean, Percy, and five other guys that I catch looking at you all the time."
"Percy!"
"Yeah it's weird really but I don't think he likes you anymore, luckily, Fred would've murdered him." She said.
"What did you say? Fred would have murdered him for liking me? Does he hate Percy that much?" I questioned.
"You're kidding right? Fred likes you more than any of those other guys do Silver."
"Er- I don't think so. You're just er- joking right?"
"FRED LIKES YOU!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.
I sat there frozen. I couldn't get a single word out of my mouth in shock.
"How can you not see it?" She asked loudly.
"I don't think he does Ginny. He's been the same around me since we met." He couldn't like me. He was my best friend.
"Okay" she said dreamily. "Well now I need to go to bed goodnight Silv" she said as she got off the bed and walked over to her bedroom.
I was still partially in a state of shock.
He doesn't like me was all I decided.
He's my best friend and big brother and that would just make everything weird...My last thought as I drifted off was 'What if he did?'
