Hale
I followed Dustin into Shadow Forest. He didn't stop for quite a while until he reached a river. He shifted mid-stride and landed on his hands and knees in front of it. I repositioned his bag on my shoulder and went to stand behind him. His face showed pain and his features were tense. His black hair fell in front of his greenish gold eyes. I knew he wanted to be left alone of a while so I sat down on a rock near by.
"How could I have been so stupid?" He questioned himself. "Zahndrik is in town the same time I happen to be there. Is he following me?" He slammed his fist on the ground. "Why can't I be more aware of my surroundings?! Why do I have to push myself to the extremes just to get what I want?! What's wrong with me?!" His hands curled into fists and he slammed his head on them.
I went to comfort him, but thought better of it. Then he did something that I never saw him do before; his body started to quiver with silent sobs. I became a little worried so I went up to him and knealed down beside him.
"I, uh, brought your bag, sir." Nothing. He didn't move a muscle, just stayed there and didn't move. I hesitantly laid my hand on his back. He jerked, but that was the only response I got from him.
I watched his body stop shaking. I backed up just a bit to give him room to get a drink. He closed his eyes as he brought the crystal water to his lips. Then I saw it; the mainartery that ran down his neck. I could see the blood pulsing behind the thin layer of skin.
My mouth watered. Oh how I want to taste- I was fifty yards away from him, not risking it. And yet, I could still faintly see the slight rising of his skin from the coursing blood, taunting me. Dustin looked up at me from the water. "Why so far away?"
I swallowed the venom from my mouth. "Thirsty." I whispered. A raw pain was etching at the back of my throat. Blood blood blood. It chanted. No, I can fight this. I have done it before and I can do it again.
I collapsed onto the ground, burried my head into my lap, and clentched the sides of my head. Get your act together, Hale. You can fight this hunger! Don't give in! I started to pant. The thirst, so powerful... I shuddered violently. The urge to drink blood is so strong, almost as strong as last time.
Memories of that day flooded my mind.

I was at the shop. I was helping a Gnome pick out her ideal sword. We had a size for everyone and I was good at finding it. So, after going into the back, I pulled out a bronze bladed sword about the length of my fore arm and brought it to her.
As I was explaining its many benifits, she proceeded to test it. "Watch this! I can catch the tip between my teeth." She was about to throw it when I stopped her. "Wait! Do you know what you are doing?"
She blew me off. "I've only done this several times. I'm a natural." She spun the hilt in her first finger, then tossed it in the air. It went straight up, then came down, blade first in a death spiral. She smiled, opened her mouth, and the sword went right through her mouth out the back of her throat. Her eyes wided and she gagged before she fell backward, blood trailing out the back of her throat and out her mouth.
I tried to cover my nose but the scent was too strong. I covered it anyway locking the scent into my nose, not wanting to. Her life blood spilled out around her. Others stopped what they were doing and tried to help her. I knew she was dead, but they tried to get the sword out anyway.
