"Are you crazy!" Julie whispers aggressively at me as I make my way to the fighting mat.

"Yep" I reply looking at The Beast directly in the eyes.

"you're going to get yourself killed," Julie says trying to talk me out of it

"Better me than you," I say and lightly shove her off the mat where she's taken by some guards to watch with the rest of them.

"You're either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid" The man in front of me says.

"I'll go with incredibly stupid thanks" I mutter under my breath so he can't hear me.

"We have our first-ever volunteer ladies and gentlemen!" Haydes shouts over the crowd earning a large cheer in reply.

"as we all know this round is a fight to the death!" He shots loudly making my eyes widen in shock. What the fuck! That was never mentioned.

"so you're either going to leave that mat victorious or in a body bag!" He says laughing to himself. What a wanker.

"let's get this fight started then, but first off. What's the first rule?" He asks out loud.

"There isn't one!" Is all the reply that's he gets. Great for all I know he could have a knife in his pocket.

The crowd starts counting down from five and I gulp nervously, as much as I want to look strong and tough this is really not how I imagined my life to be planning out. Fair enough I haven't had the most normal life so far, but being trapped in some experimental prison where I'm being made to fight for my life was certainly not on the list.

I take one last look up at the girls I've learned to call family over the past weeks and see them all looking extremely worried. I send them a reassuring look letting them know I'll be okay but let my eyes linger on Julie a little longer.

I hope I make it out of here to finally give her that kiss I've been waiting to give since I first laid eyes on her.

"FIGHT!" Is all I hear making me snap out of my daze and see The Beast charging at me with what seems to be every ounce of anger in his bones.

I easily dodge out the way, my agility being more affective than his muscle mass.

"Why don't we settle this like women hey?" I ask the guy. Really Skye, are you trying to get your neck snapped.

"You won't last long enough for a conversation," he tells me smugly before lunging at me yet again. I dodge his hit and get one of my own but it seems to have more effect on my fist than his body.

"Mother-fucker" I breath out shaking my hand from the pain.

"aww was that all you got little girl," he says pouting as he tries to taunt me into becoming sloppy. Not going to happen mate.

I could see the anger in his eyes and I knew I had to use that and get inside his head. I started looking over his body to find any clue that could help me find a weakness or give a hint to who he is.

We circle around the mat for a bit, letting him do all the work trying to get him frustrated enough to mess up on a step or move.

He swings a hard left hook at my face but I easily duck and send another jab into the same spot on his ribs trying to form a weakness there myself. I know that pretty much as soon as his fist connects with my face I'm going to be out cold and then he's left to do whatever he wants to me.

I look up to the crowd and see Ash looking at me with her fist in the air trying to demonstrate something to me. I squint my eyes trying to figure out what on earth she could be telling me.
