*hey I'm not dead! XD *

Belladonna Fritz was lying on the ground. Her chest was heaving as she tried to gain some breath. The ground where she was lying was mostly bloody mud, with the blood being hers.

It had all happened so fast this time, but perhaps, it always happened this way in war. But this... shouldn't have happened here... now.

The pain was steadily turning her limbs numb as she fought to stay awake with her weak breaths and thready heartbeat. She couldn't die. Not until they'd found her. Not until she was safe.

Suddenly there was a chorus of male voices and footsteps quickly approaching. She could tell that they'd found her when a strangled cry of her name sounded.

One person was quicker than the rest and she felt a pair of muscular arms gently pull her up into a just as gentle embrace.

"Bell...." Ludwig's voice trembled and gave out.

Liney could feel small, warm, wet splashes on her skin.

There were sad murmures from the other men there, each one as sad about her condition as the next.

She forced her eyes to open, only managing to open them halfway. When she did she was able to see Germany through her blurry gaze.

Tears were streaming down his face, which was twisted into a mournful look.

Liney wished more than anything that she could talk right now. Tell him that she was going to be okay. That this wasn't permanent like it was for everyone else. All she could do, though, was try to convey it through her eyes.

Soon her eyes became too heavy to hold open and they slid shut. She could feel herself nearing the edge of death and knew that she fall in soon, but she wasn't afraid this time.

She vaguely heard Ludwig call for her a few frantic times before burrowing his face into her chest, sobbing even harder.

Bell couldn't worry about him now though. Her heart was slowing down. Death was a lot like falling asleep, especially when you always woke up.

Everyone always said that your life flashes before you when you die but all that Bell seemed to remember was mix matched happy memories with her friends.

Then she fell into nothingness.

Belladonna's instinctively shot up as she gasped as much air into her lungs as she could. She breathed heavily as she blinked, trying to clear her eyes.

There was a lot of commotion that happened after her movement and she heard several people come near her.

The first person to bring her into an embrace was Francis, as he nuzzled his head against the side of her neck, mumbling about how she needed to stop doing that.

Bell chuckled.

"It's not like I have much choice to not die." She snorted, hugging the Frenchman back.

She repeated this process until everyone in the room had been hugged. However, there was someone missing.

"Hey Gil? Where's Lud at? He didn't get hurt did he?" The green eyed female asked her albino friend.

"He's not...... physically injured." The Prussian said slowly. "He's been hiding in his room since we got you back here. Having you die in his arms really did a number on him. Even though we explained that you'd be back in only a day at most."

Liney nodded and moved to stand up. She wobbled a bit and had to hold onto England's shoulder until she was steady again.

Once she could stand she carefully made her way to the door, the others followed her out of the room before respectfully going downstairs to give her some space to deal with the damaged German.

Bell easily made it to Ludwig's room and slipped inside, closing the door behind her. The only reaction she got was a weak grumble of "go avay". She sighed and shook her head.

Going over and sitting beside his laying form on the bed. His back was facing her and she began to run her hands through his hair in loving motions.

When he curled in on himself she sighed again and stopped her petting to half curl herself over and around him in a hug. She pressed her lips to his temple leaving a small kiss before murmuring something.

"You should at least glance at me you know." She said quietly, against his warm skin.

He shot up insanely fast, knocking her into his lap as he did so.

Rather than becoming startled or shocked Liney's only reaction was general confusion before she met his eyes.

He was holding her by her upper arms, staring at her. His eyes were tracing all over her form, as if trying to find a fault in an illusion. The tears that welled up in the icy blue orbs caused Bell's heart to crack a bit.

"Shh." She whispered, cupping his face and drawing herself closer, resting her forehead against his. "It's okay. I'm here now."

Just like that he broke down again, burying his face into her chest again, soaking her shirt and skin with his tears. This time though, Bell could do something.

She wrapped her arms around him as tightly as he was holding her. Her fingers began rubbing soothing shapes into his back as she began whispering sweet nothings to him in German.

After a few minutes and a position change Lud had finally tired himself out from all his crying.

He was now laying, half atop Belladonna as she lay on her back. His head rested gently on her chest, ear pressed over her strong heart. Their arms were wrapped firmly around each other.

"Stay with me, bitte." He whispered quietly.

"I wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon." She murmured back, tilting her head to kiss the top of his head.

After a few more moments of being wrapped in the warmth and safety of each other's embrace they both fell back asleep.
