I normally don't write x readers but I made an exception for this one. ^^

(image is not mine. Belongs to the person that I wrote this for. ^^)

I'll try to write this gender neutral.

Recap:

y/n = your name

h/c = hair color

e/c = eye color

f/c = favorite color

f/f = favorite flavor

f/i = favorite icing

Oliver was getting worried about (y/n). The (h/c) (female/male) had seemed to lose all the shine in their eyes. The once bright (e/c) were now dull. They're skin had lost a lot of it's color and their hair seemed dull too. It scared Oliver a little.

The couple had been together for about a year and a half now and had moved in together about 6 months ago. In the entire time that Oliver had known his normally happy (girlfriend/boyfriend) he'd never seen them so... depressed.

At the moment (y/n) was sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the off TV. Oliver was internally beating himself up over how he come cheer them up. Finally, he got an idea and with a grin he scurried off to the kitchen.

'Why do I feel so bloody sluggish and sad lately? Why can't it all just go away? Why must I suffer?' I thought as I sat on the couch.

I was vaguely aware of noise from the kitchen, but didn't really care, figuring that it was Oliver.

Speaking of the adorable pink haired brit I felt bad. I knew that I was making him worry, even if he hid it.

What was even worse was that I wasn't exactly sure why my sadness was so... persistent. It was going on to a month now!

I hadn't even realized that the noise in the kitchen had stopped and that I'd started crying until I felt a soft, warm hand gently brush the tears from my cheek.

My red-rimmed, (e/c) eyes met Oliver's, slightly sad, bright blue ones. He gave me a small smile and set down what he was holding on the coffee table so that he could use both hands to stroke my tears away.

"Shh. It's okay, poppet." He murmured, kneeling in front of my and gently cupping my face, still stroking my tears away. "It's okay."

After a few more painstaking minutes of crying I finally reduced them into sniffles.

"S-sorry Ollie. I don't know wh-what came over me." I stuttered, wiping the corner of my mouth on my wrist.

"It's perfectly alright, poppet. I do, and always will, still love you, even when you're having trouble being happy." He said and pressed a kiss to my forehead.

I chuckled lightly, feeling a little better.

"I love you too." I said back, softly.

"Oh! I made something for you." He turned a grabbed the thing that he'd set of the coffee table.

It was a plate with a (f/f) cupcake with (f/i) and a (f/c) smiley-face drawn on the top with icing.

"I made a bunch but I figured that you might only want one right now. I know it's not any medication that a doctor might give you to make you happy but," He handed me the cupcake and shyly pushed some stray (h/c) strands out of my face with a small blush. "But I hope that these can at least help you feel just a little bit happier, poppet."

I looked at the "smiling" cupcake before looking back up at him. Slowly, a small, still kinda sad, smile spread across my lips. A bright smile mirrored across his face.

It might take some time before I'm really happy again but I'd say that, with some encouragement like this, I can get there someday.
