"I can't believe you're actually going to move to LA. What am I going to do without you? " Diane said with sadness in her voice.
"Girl, come visit. Hell come with me. I know they had another open position. Come on. How fun would it be to start fresh and cause shenanigans in LA. Andalé!" I replied.
"Maybe I will just follow my crazy friend to LA.... but not until...well...um I don't know, it sounds so tempting. " said Diane
" Well think about it. I'll send you info about the job soon. Thanks for the ride loca. I'll call you when I get there. Love ya sis." I said as I hugged my best friend at airport.
I was so nervous to move to LA. I had never really traveled alone, except for a weekend trip to Vegas once. I sat at gate A44 waiting for my flight to board. I loved people watching, it definitely made the wait pass quickly.
"Now boarding Flight 713 from Denver to Los Angeles." Sounded over the speaker. I grabbed my bag and hopped in line behind a beautiful woman with a look of confidence about her that struck me as a typical LA rich bitch.
I looked for my seat and was so excited it was a window seat, motion sickness is no joke. I sat down and popped my ear buds in and sat back listening to Locked out of Heaven. I was startled out of my daze by that beautiful woman I was behind in line. "Excuse me, can you reach my phone?" She said pointing to the ground by my feet.
"Oh of course, I didn't even realize you were sitting next to me. I must have been daydreaming." I said pointing to my phone.
"Oh yeah, that's a good song. One of my favorites." She said pointing to the picture of the music player on my phone screen.
"Mine too. It just makes me want to dance pero esta latina no baila muy bien." I said smiling.
"Ah español. " she said winking at me.
"My name is Jessica, nice to meet you." She said extending her hand.
"I'm Laura, nice to meet you." I said shaking her hand.
We prepared for takeoff and sat quietly for a while. Well I guess she isn't a bitch. I thought to myself.
Walking out of arrivals at LAX was intimidating. So many people moving so fast in every direction. I was standing out in arrivals waiting for my friend Jen to pull up. I noticed Jessica standing about 15 feet away looking annoyed as she talked on her phone. I could hear her conversation faintly "what do you mean you're going to be late? Babe seriously. OK I'll call Tiara. Bye"
"Hey its hot here isn't it?" I said trying to start a conversation.
"Nah its cool today. Ugh I need to find a ride, hold on let me call someone." She said annoyed.
"My friends can give you a ride, she won't mind. Here she is now. C'mon." I said
"Hey Jen! Girl look at you looking all foxy." I said.
"Look at you still looking all basic... give me a hug brat." She said as she hugged me tightly. I sure missed her being around everyday.
"Hey girl this is Jessica. Um can you give her a ride?" I asked as I gave her a pouty lip look.
"Of course! Let's go." She giggled as she tossed our bags in the trunk of her little drop top lexus.
We dropped Jessica off at an office building with a big sign that read Creed Co.
"Thank you so much Jen, nice meeting Laura. See you ladies around." She said as she walked away.
"Okay....I don't really dont know what to say about your friends Laura." Mumbled Jen as she gave me the side eye.
