Ruby's POV:
"If your parents find out they're going to kill you." Jasmine points out. I'm surprised we're still friends after everything I did. "I know but it'll be worth it." I tell her before I walk back into the kitchen. "I miss them too but it's not like we can force them to get along." She sighs. "Who?" I ask. "Don't play dumb." She crosses her arms. "It's the last week of summer I just want to have one last year with them." I explain. "Shouldn't have attacked Monse like that." She declares. "She was just being sensitive." I roll my eyes. "Seriously? Monse just had a baby and Cesar cheated on her she was going through it." Jasmine knows I feel bad but I don't want to admit it. "She just wanted to hold a grudge." I shrug. "Yeah and you did nothing wrong." Jasmine laughs as she throws herself onto the couch. "Watch after tonight it's all going to go back to the way it was." I insist.****Later that night****
Cesar's POV:
I walk in looking down at the pictures Noel sent me of her and Mateo. I know what she's trying to do but it's just reminding me of Monse. I take a deep breath and I walk into Ruby's house. I look around and I barely recognize anyone. I remember when it was just us four, I guess that was a while ago. "Told you he'd come!" I hear Ruby yell as soon as we make eye contact. "She told me you wouldn't come." He laughs to me. "Yeah I just wanted to say hi but I'm gonna go before I see-" and then there it is the one thing I didn't want to happen. "Before you see who?" Monse asks with her arms crossed. It's weird seeing her after all this time. "No one." I tell her. I turn back to everyone and give a fake smile. "I'll see you guys some other time." I knew this would be a mistake. "Come on at least have a drink." Jasmine hands me a beer. "Thanks but I have to go." I turn around and bump into Monse. "Thanks a lot." She stomps away towards the bathroom. "She can't seriously think I did that on purpose?" I ask them. "Did you?" Ruby asks. "I didn't think she was still standing there!" I insist. "Tell Jamal I said hi." I walk away and once I get to the door I stop myself. "I'm going to regret this." I mumble to myself. "Told you he'd go to her." I hear Jasmine laugh when I walk away from them. I open the bathroom door that never locked and ignore the line of annoyed people waiting to use it. "I didn't do it on purpose." I tell her. "Didn't think you did." She shrugs. "Can you get out so I can take my shirt off." She puts her hands on her hips. "Nothing I haven't seen before." I smirk. "Don't." She says as she tries to clean her shirt. "Just let me help you." I tell her. "Oh yeah last time you 'helped' someone I ended up with our son." She says. Out of nowhere she breaks out into laughter. "You're just like Oscar! You have a kid and you're in a gang and you fuck up everything around you." She keeps laughing. "Ok we both have a kid and how are you still mad?" I ask. She ignores me. "Ok, at least tell me how long you're going to be mad?" I insist on an answer. "Until you realize cheating on me while I was on a school trip was an ass hole move." I clench my jaw. "You're really still calling it a school trip? It was you and Jesús alone together talking to people about that half ass writing program! You probably slept with him as soon as you left my house" I yell. "Really? That's who you think I am?" She asks. "The only difference between me and you is that I got caught." I roll my eyes. She continues to struggle with her shirt and not looking at me. "Just let me help you!" I try to pull off her shirt and she pushes me out of the bathroom. "You want me to leave then I'll leave." I wait a few seconds and she doesn't try to stop me. "Are you happy?" I open the door and walk back in. "What?" She looks at me like I'm crazy. "Tell me you're happy and I leave you alone." I shrug. "I'm happy." She says. "Are you happy without me?" I ask. She doesn't say anything so I decided to take a chance and maybe ruin any small hope I had of us even being able to be in the same room again. So because I'm an idiot, I kiss her. "What the hell?" She yells at me. "Just checking." I smirk. "Checking what?!" She hisses. "You didn't pull away." I smile. "I did." She crosses her arms. "Not right away." I can tell I'm annoying her. "I was in shock." She scoffs. "In shock because you realized you missed me?" I raise my eyebrows. "Shut up." She pulls me in again and kisses me. "I knew you missed me." I say against her lips.Monse's POV:
"We can never tell anyone about this." I mumble as Cesar kisses my neck. "Wouldn't dream of it." He laughs. "Me neither." I kiss him as I sit on top of Ruby's bathroom sink. There's a knock on the door and we both freeze. "Hurry up there's like thirty people waiting out here!" A girl whines and we both laugh a little. A few minutes later there's another knock so I hop off the sink and open the door. Cesar stands behind me with his hands on my hips and I slap them away when I see Jamal. "Nope!" He screams before he walks away. "At least it's wasn't your boyfriend." Cesar laughs. "You're an idiot, I cant believe this almost happened." I chase after Jamal. "Please don't tell anyone!" I beg. "So Where's the line Monse?" He asks and I look at him confused. "Cesar kisses Olivia so you break up, but you sleep with him and no one cares! He sleeps with someone else and you freak out but once again you get back together. But once again he cheats and you break up! So now both of you are finally happy and you expect me to lie for you?" He yells. "Please do this for me and I swear I'll never involve you in any of this again." I beg. "Well don't do that I want to know what's going on." He laughs. "Thank you." I smile. I walk home and think about everything that happened. "Have fun?" My dad asks when I walk in the house. "Yeah, I guess." I shrug. "Cesar broke in through your window a few minutes ago, he thought you'd be home." My dad says without even looking up from his phone. "My window?" I laugh. "Yeah, it's probably urgent." My dad smiles. "Mateo's asleep in my room!" My dad tells me as I walk away. "My window?" I ask when I open my door. "Nothing beats the classic." He shrugs. "You should probably go back home before Noel thinks a couple of thugs roughed you up." I mock her. "Not tonight." He stands up and wraps me in a hug. "Is everything ok?" I ask. "Yeah, I just missed you." He laughs. "I missed you too... Kind of." I laugh.
