Eva's POV:
"You're not seriously going to work, are you?" Cesar asks when he walks into the house. "I have to, I need money." I shrug. "You really want to get killed?" He asks me. "Don't worry I got it handled." I tap my gun. "You're so stupid. Don't come back here when you get shot." Cesar shakes his head before he storms out of the house. "Just do what you gotta do, I know you can handle yourself." Oscar tells me. "Thanks." I smile. I throw on my favorite white hoodie and I head outside. I look around first and no one's there. Of course he overreacted as always.
Cesar's POV:
"I thought you had to go?" Monse asks when I walk in her house. "Eva's going to her job where Rashad followed her to in the first place." I explain while I pace back and forth. "Don't stress, I'm sure she'll be fine." Monse tries to calm me down. "It's not safe here anymore." I say. "She can handle it." She stands up and looks me in the eye. "You can't be worried about everyone all the time." Monse tells me. "Maybe if everyone I know didn't keep dying because a prophet shot them I wouldn't be so worried." I can't even look at her in the eyes I feel like someone's pushing down on my chest. "I'm still here, Ruby's still here, Jamal, Mateo, your brother, so many people are still here and we're not going anywhere." She tries to reassure me. "Jamal's leaving in December, you and Ruby are going to college and I'm... I'm stuck here." I take a deep breath. "Freeridge, the Santos this is it for me." I shake my head. She puts her hand on my cheek and it feels like we're fourteen again. "I thought I got away from all this. Oscar wants this to happen, the Santos want this to happen. You think I want another gang war?" I don't know what I thought would happen. I thought getting the Santos back here would solve more problems then it'd start. "You don't have to stay here. This isn't all you have." She says quietly. She looks at my lips and then she kiss me slowly. I know I have to let her go, she can do so much better than this life. "Monse stop." I pull back. "Don't, not right now." I can tell she knows what I was about it say. I pull her close and kiss her again. I carry her to the couch and put her on my lap.
Jesús POV:
The prophets aren't doing shit. Rashad keeps saying he doesn't want to start a gang war over petty shit. Of course he's not listening. I pull up near lil Spooky's block but I know if they see my car they'll shoot no questions asked. I park two blocks away and walk the rest. This barrio only brings mala suerte. When I'm walking I see them. Monse's on Cesar's lap. She couldn't even close the curtains who the hell is she turning into? He doesn't deserve her. I'll deal with that later. I keep walking when I see Eva talking to the paletero. I walk quickly enough to catch up to her. Once the paletero walks away I get a little closer. "Hey Eva." I say. "What the hell are you doing back here?" She asks. "Just wondering how it felt to be a Santo? Now if anything happens to you no one's gonna care." I tell her. "You're just going to be another Santo who fucked up." I shrug. I'm more careful this time and I notice when she touches her gun that's hidden under her hoodie. So before she can even blink I shoot her. "You're gonna die just like your brother. A prophet killed him and here you are." I laugh when I see her sit up. Shit I must've just grazed her. I run into a backyard expecting her to shoot but she doesn't. Maybe I did more damage then I thought. I get into my car and speed back to Rashad's. He didn't want to start anything so I did it for him. Next time it'll be a lot worse.
Jamal's POV:
I'm sitting in my room using my laptop when someone starts banging on my window. "Jamal!" I hear Eva yell. I open it and there she is, grabbing her arm while it bleeds. "I got shot." She says in pain as I help her through my window. "I'm not going good with blood. Why didn't you go to Cesar's?" I ask her. "That's the first place Jesús would look for me." She says as she struggles to take off her hoodie. "Wait, Jesús my best friend?" I ask. "I'm loosing blood here can you please just call someone?" She begs. I try calling Monse and when she doesn't pick up I call Cesar but they don't answer. "Maybe you should go to a hospital." I suggest when I see her turn pale and start to shake. "No doctors." She refuses. "I'm going to regret this." I sigh. "Hey Monty, can I call you Monty?" I tell Monse's dad when he answers the phone. "What do you want Jamal?" He asks. "I just got shot can you please come?" Eva says. Maybe that wasn't the best way to start this phone call. "Perfect timing I just got to my house. I'm on my way." He tells us. "Hurry because one of us is about to pass out and it's not me." Eva says. "Pass out? No it's just a little blood." I'm trying so hard not to look at her. A few seconds later I open the door and he runs into my room. "That is a lot more blood than I thought." I say when I look at her hoodie that she's been using to soak up the blood. I pass out and when I wake up Monty's using a random needle and thread that is definitely not medical grade to close the wound. "Welcome back." Eva says. "That's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen." I try not to throw up. "Can you call Cesar and tell him to come over?" She asks. "Yeah great idea." I  leave the room and I call him. He walks into my house and says the dumbest thing he's ever said. "Guess who just got pity sex." He says when he walks into my room with Monse and Mateo. "What the hell?!" He screams when he sees Monty stitching up Eva. "Jesús started it." Eva shrugs. "Can you not move when I'm stabbing a needle through you arm?" Monty asks. "You're next." He looks Cesar up and down before turning back to Eva.
