Cesar's POV:
"Man this place looks like shit." I hear Julio say. I turn around a few Santos are pulling up to the house. "Where've you guys been hiding out?" I laugh. "Just around." Luciana says as she hugs me. Before I can say hi to anyone else Eva runs in, out of breath. "Jesús is a prophet." She manages to say between breaths. "Yeah and I'm pretty sure this guy Rashad is too." She says. "Yeah he's in charge of all those dumb asses." Another Santo says. "Shit." Eva looks panicked. "What'd he do?" Julio asks. "Who?" Oscar says when he walks in. "He followed me to work and I'm pretty sure a prophet was outside the house last night." She explains. "They fucking know." Oscar says as he shakes his head. "Who's telling Monse?" Eva asks as she make serious eye contact with me. "Jesús can't know that we know." I tell her. "And Monse's definitely going to tell him." Oscar adds. "You really want your kid to be around a prophet?" Julio asks. "She's going to college and getting the hell out of Freeridge, last thing she needs is to be in the middle of two gangs." I explain. "You can't just hide this from her. "Hey, are you moving back in?" We look towards the door and of course Jesús is standing there. "No, just me... you know the girl who shot someone." Eva walks closer to him but Oscar puts his arm out in front of her and stops her from getting closer. "You should go." Oscar tells him. "Oh sorry." Jesús laughs. "Yeah it's just kind of private." I tell him. His smile turns into a frown and he looks at Eva. "You told them?" He asks her. "Leave her alone she's a kid." Oscar tells Jesús. "She's old enough to keep her mouth shut." He says through clenched teeth. "Apparently not." Eva laughs. "Why don't you tell Rashad that we figured you out and if he wants to know what we're doing he can drag himself here and ask us." I threaten. Maybe I got a little too close of something because Monse crosses the street with Mateo on her hip. "Hey Jesús, you want to go back to my house?" She asks with a straight face but she keeps eye contact with me. "Is this my nephew?" Oscar asks when Jesús leaves. "Yeah." Monse says. "Hey chiquito! I'm gonna take him while you figure this out." He tells her the last part quietly. "Thanks." She shrugs. "I get that you're not his biggest fan but please just be nice." She begs. I could tell her right now but it might ruin everything. "Can you guys give us a second." I tell them. "Yeah." Julio nods and they go outside with Oscar. "Are you ok?" Monse asks me. "Yeah." I nod. "I don't trust Jesús." She whispers. "What? Why not?" I ask. "Because he dumped me and then acted like it never happened and then he started asking a ton of questions about you guys." She admits. "Monse, I really don't want to tell you this." I take a deep breath. "Cesar, get out here now!" Eva runs in holding Mateo and passes him to Monse. "Go into my old room I'll be back." I tell her and she still looks worried. "I promise it'll all be fine." I kiss her cheek. Eva leads the way and there's four prophets outside. "So this is it? I thought the whole mariachi was back together!" Rashad laughs. "What the hell do you want?" I ask him. "Nothing just wanted to make sure you weren't thinking of pulling any dumb shit... again." He laughs. "You remember what happened last time." He looks at Eva. "You... It was you." Eva clenches her jaw. "You killed my brother while he was asleep and on drugs that shit doesn't make you some big bad asesino." Eva hisses. "Who does this kid think she is?" He laughs. "Eva go inside." Oscar says. She doesn't listen to him. "Now Eva!" He yells at her. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you see him very soon." Rashad says as she walks away. "Threaten me again and I promise you I'll kill every single prophet who was there the night he died." She gets in his face and her temper reminds me of Crazy Eyes. "Inside." Oscar repeats. She gives him one more long look before she goes inside.Monse's POV:
Someone walks in the house and I hold my breath, praying it's Cesar. "Hey." Eva says and I flinch. "Whoa sorry." She tells me. "What's going on out there?" I ask. Mateo sits on my lap watching one of his shows, I hate having him in this house. I never want him to be apart of that life. "Some prophets are out there." She shrugs. "The one who..." I can't finish my sentence. "Yeah, he followed me to work earlier. Sadistic bastard." She tells me. "You ok?" I ask. "Cesar's handling it." She tells me. "Come on, I'll get you guys out of here." She gets up and opens Cesar's window. "Santos and there windows." I laugh. She hops over the chain link fence. "Here I got him." She says as I pass Mateo over. "Let's get you two to Jamal's." She says. "Why not Ruby's?" I ask. "Jesús won't think you went to his best friends house to hide out." Eva says as we pass through backyards. "Wait what?" I stop her. "He didn't tell you." Eva runs a hand through her hair. "Let's get to Jamal's and I'll explain." She says. "No, explain now!" I insist. "He's a prophet. The day he claimed they attacked him he probably got jumped in." Eva tells me with a straight face. "Let's go." She tells me. We eventually get to Jamal's without being caught. "Hey." She says when she climbs in his window. "And you guys are here because?" Jamal asks. "Because gangs." Eva says as she holds Mateo for me. "Not this again." Jamal groans. "Yeah, freshman year all over again." I sigh.
