Oscar's POV:
"At ten thirty last night a sixteen teen year old girl was shot and killed. She was a member of the Santos, a gang in Freeridge, and her killer was most likely from a rival gang." We never watch the news but no one's telling us anything. "That's the same shit that cop told us." Cesar says. "You think they care what happened to Eva?" I ask him. "The only one who's gonna do anything about this is us." Julio tells him. "She was just a kid." He says. "Not to them, to them she was just another gang member." I shake my head. "People are happy she's dead, not just prophets." I say seriously. "Are we still meeting with Rashad later?" He asks. "I don't think we have a choice." I say seriously.
Jamal's POV:
I shouldn't have let her go alone. Maybe if I was there it would've been different. "Hey baby, how are you feeling?" My mom asks. "I don't know." I shrug under my blankets. "Jesús' here, if you're not up for it I'm sure he'll understand." She says. "He Can come in." I tell her. "Hey man, your mom told me what happened." He says sadly. "Yeah." Is all I manage to say. "You know we met at her brother's funeral? She didn't even know me and she just cried into my chest the whole day... she didn't even ask my name until the end of the day." I say with tears brimming my eyes. "I swear if I find the person that did this." Jesús shakes his head. "No, I'm tired of everyone fighting and killing each other. The person who killed her should have to find her family and tell them everything." I say quickly. "Did you at least get to say goodbye?" He asks. I don't answer for a minute and I sit up. "She left because you went after Cesar." I look him in the eyes. "He was with Monse all night." I start to cry again. "It was you." I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner. "Jamal-" He looks at me like I'm crazy and I cut him off. "Where's Cesar's phone?" I ask him and he looks confused. "What?" He asks. "Her last words are typed out on his phone, where is it?" I ask again. He reaches into his pocket and hands it to me. "If I knew about you guys-" I cut him off again. "She was sixteen." I say through clenched teeth. "It wasn't personal, she went after me first." He tries to justify what he did. "So you shot her the first time too?" I ask him seriously. He doesn't say anything and I know the answer. "You should run." I tell him. "What?" He looks like he's about to cry. "I'm not going to hurt you but I'm going to go outside, walk to Cesar's house and tell them everything you did. Whatever they do isn't up to me." I explain. "I didn't mean to-" "To what? To kill the only girl I've had any feelings for since Mariana left me? To murder one my best friends?" I ask him. "I didn't mean to do this to you." He says before he leaves. As soon as he walks out I breakdown. The last person to see her alive was right in front of me. I knew he was a prophet but I assumed he was more Cesar and less Spooky. When I finally run out of tears I get up and I storm outside. Eva deserves justice. The walk to Cesar's is short but with every step I see her smile, her laugh, I hear her voice. It takes everything in me to stop myself from falling on my knees and crying. "Don't worry, I'll be right back." Her voice is ringing in my head. "Are you ok?" Cesar asks when I walk into his house. I can't stop it now I break down. He hugs me and I feel Oscar's hand on my shoulder. When I finally look up I see everyone, including Oscar with tears in their eyes. "You know she had the biggest crush on you." Oscar laughs through a few tears. "Yeah, I actually found out right before she..." I take a deep breath. "Right before Jesús shot her." I tell them. I can tell they're mad. "We'll deal with him later, she deserves at least a few minutes without that ass hole ruins it." Cesar says and Oscar nods. "She was more bad ass than any of us." One of the Santos says. "She was too good for this place." Julio says as he fights back tears. "She just wanted to get out this place." I tell them sadly. "Everyone's gonna miss her... especially Vega, who else is crazy enough to work there?" I try to laugh. "We're going to make sure Jesús gets what he deserves." Oscar tell me.

Cesar's POV:
We pull up to Rashad's and he's standing there alone. "He told me what he did." Rashad even sounds sad. "You know I became a prophet after my baby sister died... she was fifteen." He tells us. "Why do we need to know?" I try to sound as intimidating as possible but all I can see is Jamal's face while he cried about her. "Jesús is getting jumped out, after that he's all your's. This shit ends today." Rashad says. Oscar and I both share a look. Why does he care so much about this one girl? "Why?" Oscar asks him, like he was reading my mind. "I didn't want start this shit in the first place and once he's out we can fight over the shit that actually matters." That sounds more like Rashad. "So no truce?" I ask him. "You guys can have your block back, we don't want the crap side of Freeridge anyways but that doesn't mean there's a truce." He says. He just doesn't want to be the one to call a truce, no one does. When we walk away he says one more thing. "Get Jesús at one, same place he killed the kid."
