Ugh this one kinda sucks
Small tw

Cordelia smiled at Marvin as the pair walked in the direction the small diner, blabbing on and on about a friend that she thought would be perfect for Marvin.

"I know you've already found your soulmate, but I swear, he's amazing. You'll love him." She says as they walk in together, her walking just a few inches in front of him. He shoved his hands in his pockets as they sat at a table.

"Why aren't you telling me his name?" Marvin asked, frowning.

"Because, that ruins the fun. C'mon, Marvin, gimme a break." Cordelia said, punching Marvin on the shoulder. He laughed a bit, looking down.

"Oh my god." Marvin's head shot up, and he opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He was a flustered mess, just by hearing the man's voice. Everybody knew that you couldn't run from your soulmate. You just couldn't. No matter how hard you tried, how far you happened to get away, you'd always be stuck with them in one way or another. Marvin, for some reason, had thought that this didn't apply to him. Apparently, he was wrong.

"Oh, hey! This is-" Cordelia started, but was immediately cut off.

"Oh, I know Marvy." Whizzer said with a cruel smirk, plopping himself in the chair across from Marvin, who scoffed, looking away.

"Whizzer." He said quietly. Cordelia looked confused.

"Am I missing something?" She asked. Marvin and Whizzer both held up their wrists, where each other's names were written in tiny, curly black letters. Marvin's was completely ruined and covered in thin scars from trying to scratch the name out, but it obviously hadn't worked. Cordelia's eyes widened. "You guys are..."

"Glad we got that cleared up, now can we please leave?" Marvin asked, moving to stand up. Cordelia quickly pulled him back down.

"And neither of you told me?" She asked.

"How was I suppose to know that you knew him?" Marvin spat.

"Why would I talk about him in the first place?!" Whizzer yelled, slamming his fists on the table.

"Are you three ready to order?" A waitress asked, and Whizzer shot her a glare. She nervously smiled, sprinting back into the kitchen.

"I don't get why you hate me so much!" Marvin shouted.

"I don't hate you!" Whizzer screamed, standing up and slamming the chair into the table.

"Sit your ass back down, and tell me what's going on." Cordelia hissed, and Whizzer scoffed, clenching his fists and sitting back in his chair. He opened his mouth, but Marvin cut him off before he could even start.

Strangely, Marvin had always been in love with Whizzer. They'd been friends for seven years, and Marvin couldn't remember a time where he wasn't completely head over heels for the boy. He was now sixteen, and luckily, he had managed to not make physical contact with him. Really, he wasn't in the mood to find out for sure that the love of his life wasn't his soulmate.

"Marvin, are you okay? You look...numb." Whizzer said, and Marvin, who was already in an incredibly awful mood for no reason in particular, jumped, his head snapping up.

"I'm fine." He snapped. Whizzer raised an eyebrow.

"You sure?" Marvin nodded, standing up to leave. Quickly, Whizzer grabbed his wrist, and Marvin practically felt his heart stop. He squeezed his eyes shut, his breathing quickening, tears falling down his cheeks. He didn't want to look. He didn't want to-

"You?" Whizzer asked, and Marvin slowly opened his eyes. Whizzer was looking down at his wrist in disgust.

Marvin quickly looked at his wrist, tears falling even harder as he saw the name and the whole incident snapped into place. Especially with Whizzer's expression, it was quite clear that Whizzer was completely repulsed by the thought of Marvin being his soulmate.

"I'm sorry." Marvin mumbled, stepping back. "I'm sorr-"

***
"Wait a minute, that's not what happened." Whizzer spat, and Marvin scoffed, frowning at Whizzer.

"Just let me finish the fucking story," Marvin shot back. "Anyways-"
***

"I'm sorry." Marvin quickly spun on his heels, running to the bathroom. He'd found a small plastic pencil sharpener, and bit the plastic in half, yanking out the small razor and bringing it to his wrist, cutting and cutting at his skin until you could no longer see the boy's name. Blood was everywhere, but he didn't really give a shit in that point in time. All he wanted was to restart, pretend that what had happened hadn't, and move on with life. When the cuts healed, though, so did the mark.

Every time Marvin saw Whizzer after that, Whizzer shot some glare or nasty remark at him. He'd walk away whenever Marvin got close to him, and covered his wrist with a band-aid. So, Marvin completely changed his schedule so that he could stay completely away from Whizzer. It was better to act like he didn't exist rather then to stay hurt, right?

***
"No, it really wasn't!" Whizzer yelled, Whizzer huffed, and Cordelia shushed him. "It was guilt, all of it! When I saw your name on my wrist, I panicked because I was scared of the whole soulmate thing, and I made a face because I had it set in my head that I didn't have one and was freaked out that I did! I wanted to talk to you about it after, but then I saw what you did to your wrist and thought that you hated me, and I-" He exhaled, looking down. "I tried to kill myself. That's why I was out the next week, I was in the psych ward. I was going to try and talk to you about it again when I got back, but you changed your schedule. After that, I played it off like I hated you because I didn't want you to know that I was in love with you and hate me more. But I was in love with you, and I've always been so deeply in love with you, Marvin." Whizzer finished, wiping tears from his eyes.

"Whizzer-" Marvin said, but Whizzer cut him off, standing up.

"So, if you want to continue being pissed off at me," Whizzer said, his voice wobbling. "That's fine." He mumbled something under his breath, and Marvin doubted that Cordelia heard it, but he understood it perfectly.

'Because, then, at least I won't feel guilty when I drive my car off a bridge.'

Marvin quickly stood up, wrapping his arms around Whizzer tightly, who broke down, sobbing into Marvin's neck.

"I'm sorry." Marvin whispered, running his hand up and down Whizzer's back. "I loved you too. I still love you, I love you so much. I missed you more than anything." Marvin pulled away from the hug, putting his hands on Whizzer's shoulders. "Listen, we're going to try this, alright? Maybe not now, because we're both kind of shaken up, but-" Whizzer cut him off, leaning in and pecking him on the lips.

"We'll make it work." Whizzer said, completing Marvin's sentence perfectly.

"Please don't drive your car off of a bridge." Marvin said quietly. Whizzer's eyes widened.

"You heard that?" He whispered, biting his lip. Shit, he knew he shouldn't have said anything. Marvin nodded.

"Were you actually going to-"

"Mhm. I'd been planning on it for a while." Whizzer whispered. Marvin turned to face Cordelia.

"Hey, Cory? I'm going to head home with Whizzer." Cordelia nodded, standing up.

"Cory? Everybody else just calls her Delia." Whizzer said, and Marvin shrugged.

"Exactly. Plus, you're one to talk, Whizzer." Marvin said, following Whizzer out the door. Whizzer rolled his eyes, side-eyeing Marvin.

"Yeah, but it's better than Marvin." He laughed, getting into his car. Marvin sat in the passengers seat, smiling.

Yes, he was sure that they moved on unnaturally fast, and the topic would most likely come back up sooner than later, but at the moment, both were just relieved to have each other back.
