Chapter 3

"I don't know what that was about but Skye what the hell!" Joel says opening the door to his car and sitting down in the drivers seat gasping for air.

"You don't understand Joel, no one does" I reply.

"Well then make me understand" he said grabbing my hands from my face and holding them.

"Can we please just go home?" I ask pulling back my hands, holding back the tears.

"Okay Skye, let's go get Siena then" he said before starting the ignition and driving towards the preschool.

I grabbed the earphone out of my bag and plugged them into my phone before placing the ear buds in my ears. Clicking the playlist entitled 'Be Happy', I lay back into the car seat and curl into a ball, looking out the window wishing I could be anywhere else but here.

Upon arrival at the preschool, I quickly hop out of the car and slammed the door behind me. Cuddles Avenue was a cute and quaint preschool, which both Siena and I loved. The staff was so kind and caring and I knew they would always take care of her. I went to the front desk and signed Siena out, before walking into the main room to find her.

Siena liked to play alone. She wasn't shy, but she preferred to play by herself then with other people. That's why it didn't shock me to find her in the corner playing with some dolls all by herself.

"Hey princess" I said as I sat down on the carpet next to her.

"Mummy!" She said enveloping me in a hug.

"Why don't oh go and play with one of the girls? I'm due they'd love to play dollies with you!" I smile at her.

"Silly mummy, I'm playing with someone already"

"Oh you are? Where is she?" I said slightly confused.

"He's right here" she pointing to the empty spot next to her.

Imaginary friend, I come to realisation.

"Oh yeah I see him! What's his name?" I ask smiling.

"His name is Alex"

I instantly cringe at the name.

"Are you sure? Okay I'll ask. But you have to ask too" she mutters to herself.

"Are you okay Nenna?"

"I'm fine, just Alex wants to know if he can come over and play with me"

"Of course he can if his mum doesn't mind! Come on, get your bag and Alex get yours too and let's go home and play!" I say standing up and grabbing her hand to hold it in mine.

"Alex likes our house mummy" Sienna smiles at me as we enter our house.

"I'm glad he likes it" I smile back. "You go sit down and you can play on the mat with Alex for a little bit. Make sure he doesn't get lost so we can't see him"

I laugh a little at my joke. What can I say I'm pretty funny?

"Mummy's just going to get changed" I say walking up the stairs to my bedroom and getting some clothes from my drawers.

I quickly change into comfier clothes and wash my face in the ensuite sink.

"Are you okay?" I yell out to Siena, just to make sure she's okay.

"Yeah, I'm just playing with Alex" I hear her yell back.

Grabbing my dirty clothes, I walk towards the laundry and put them in the washing basket.

"Are you hungry princess---- what are you doing here!" My soft voice turns angry when I see Alex Anderson sitting in my lounge room playing with mine well our daughter.

"I'm just playing dolls with Siena over here" he smirks.

Oh my god this is so bad! So so bad! He can't know she's his!

"I thought you were playing with Alex?" I question Siena, my gaze leaving him.

"I am mum! I'm playing with two Alex's isn't that funny?!" She giggles.

"Well this Alex needs to leave now!" I said pulling him up off the ground and pushing him out of the lounge room. "How'd you even find out where I live you stalker!"

"I'm Alex Anderson, I know people" he said smugly.

"Yeah well Alex Anderson you new to leave now!" I say shoving him out the front door, attempting to shut the door but his hand stopped the door from closing.

"I didn't know you had a daughter" he says his voice softening.

"You don't know a lot of things about me" I said slamming the door in his face angrily.
