Chapter 18

*Skye's POV*

"Siena! Breakfast!" I yell up towards the staircase.

Stupid eggs. Stupid bacon. Stupid cereal.  Stupid tall cabinets.

Who thought it was a good idea to put the plates and bowls on the highest shelf? Oh wait, that was me.

Letting out a groan, I attempted to reach up and grab a bowl for Siena's cereal. Attempted was the key word here, I couldn't reach.

"Too short huh?" Someone laughed behind me.

"Shut up and just get it would you" I huffed in annoyance.

Alex moves behind me and successfully pulls a bowl from the cupboard.

"Oops, my hand must have slipped" He smirks, grabbing my bum with his spare hand.

"You pig!" I laugh, swatting his hand away.

"It's that shirt. It's doing things to me" He whispers in my ear, gesturing to his button-down shirt I stole from him.

"I get to see you shirtless, I ain't complaining"

Alex suddenly cleared his throat with a cough.

"I am pleased to introduce Princess Siena. Make way for the princess!" He says standing straight and tall.

"What's going on?" I whisper in his direction.

He places a finger to his mouth shushing me.

Siena slowly walks into the kitchen, in her prettiest dress and a tiara on top of her head.

"Oh my goodness, look at you!" I instantly smile.

"Do you like it mummy?" She says twirling around giving me a complete look.

"Oh I love it baby. Come give me a hug" I giggle, squatting down to pull her in close.

Alex rustled around above to finish pouring her cereal.

"Alex picked it for me" Siena whispered.

"Did he now?" I turn, looking up at Alex who is trying to hide his smile.

"He thinks I'm a princess just like you mummy" She says hugging me tighter.

"Come on you, let's eat breakfast"

I stand back up and watch as she skips over to sit down at the table. Walking back behind the counter, I stop next to Alex and look up and him.

"I'm a princess?" I question, smiling.

"Nope, I think you are the queen"

"That makes you the king" I say kissing him softly on the cheek.

He looks down at me and kisses me on the lips.

"And that makes Siena our princess" I emphasise the word 'our'.

"Siena is our princess" He realises and kisses me again.

"Mummy don't forget coco pops!" Siena giggles behind me.

"I won't I promise, you silly girl" I smile, continuing to push my trolley down the aisle.

"Coco pops are the best cereal don't you think Daddy?"

My whole body freezes over and I slowly turn around to see a shocked Alex in the same frozen state as myself.

He looks at me and I shrug, letting him approach the situation how he wants. He let's go of her hand and bends down so they are level.

"Siena, do you want me to be your daddy?" He asks, concealing a smile.

She nods her head quickly and hugs him tight.

"Okay then well that's settled" He laughs, picking her up and carrying her on his hip. "Skylar there's someone who wants to talk to you I think" Alex looks straight ahead.

I turn back around to meet the gaze of Joel.

He shoves his hands in his pockets, looking down at the floor.

"We need to talk"
