After school, they went to the library which was....

not a good idea.

They walked in and went up to their usual study table, where nobody actually studied, sat down and launched into a new conversation. Until Diana saw Elizabeth who looked back at her with loving confusion.

"Hey Honey, nice to see you back here, you alright?", Elizabeth asked concerningly.

"Yeah, I'm all good, just trying to get back into the groove" Diana responded with a smile.

Elizabeth then moved on with her cart full of books and left Diana alone, with Kai of course. He asked about the unusual encounter he had just witnessed and Diana reluctantly told him about the last time she came to the library. He saddened to realize exactly how broken he had left her as she explained how things had been since he died. But there were some lighthearted topics in their conversation.

"Rebecka, really? And the cowgirl boots, aren't those a bit much? What does Edward find appealing there??" Kai asked jokingly.

"RIGHT??", she almost yelled.

A few days later, it was a Saturday night, Diana's parents were home and she was required to go to some benefit thing for her father's job. Her mom told her to put makeup on, as if Diana's bare face revolted her, she reluctantly threw on some foundation and powder and went downstairs. Her mother gave her a look as if to say not enough, try again. So, she did.

Kai was next to her, they had been nearly inseparable, and she saw his eyes widen as she put on more and more coats of different products. She never wore makeup to school and only did for special occasions such as the one that night. Her and Kai were beyond comfortable with each other so she never felt the need to wear any around him so he had never seen her fully made up.

"wowie", he said.

"W h a t" she replied.

"I've just never seen you wear makeup before, I didn't even know you had any.", he looked at her quizzically.

"I don't really wear it unless my mom tells me to, she bought me a bunch of makeup but I never use it. She wants me to love wearing makeup and be her perfect feminine daughter."

"Huh.", he said.

They were at the party and Diana somehow hated it more than she thought she would. With her 50 pounds of foundation, winged eyeliner, and bright red lipstick (special order from her mother), she felt like those girls in makeup tutorials. The ones they called cakefaces. And she didn't like it. Even Kai somehow changed his faded almost see-through clothes into a sharp tuxedo, his hair however he didn't need to change. It was always styled anyway, just how she liked it, with one little curly-cue that always sprang loose.

"Wait why are you dressed up? Nobody can even see you, and how are you even dressed up??", she asked, very curious about the specifics of ghost fashion.

"Ssssshhhhhh, just let it happen" he whispered, even though if he yelled, nobody but her would be able to hear.
