Diana was scrambling to get the bright red sauce off the white couch before it set in too much. Anything Kai tried to hold slipped through his faded blue fingers, so instead of helping her, he stayed there just yelling.
"YOU MISSED A SPOT THERE", Kai yelled pointing to a more pigmented section of the couch cushion.
"I KNOW, I KNOW", she screamed back.
Hours later, there were cleaning products all over the floor and Diana was sprawled out against the end of the couch with a dead look in her eyes. Kai was sitting far away from her, knees clutched against his chest, scared of how she might react in her desperation. There was a large pink smudge on the couch as if someone crashed into it with a wet flamingo painting.
"My parents are gonna actually kill me", Diana said quietly, regretting every decision.
She slowly stood up and climbed up the stairs, physically and mentally drained. She quietly got in the bath to get rid of the smell of cleaning products and thought about Edward and how he would've been there to help her clean up the mess. He would've known exactly what to do, however, he wasn't there, he was somewhere with Rebecka, as he had almost always been. She sat in the hot water and slid farther and farther down until she was completely submerged. She stayed there for a long time, holding her breath, though it hurt to do so, eventually, she started feeling woozy, and yet she stayed.
Her body was begging for air but she didn't allow it any, I guess this is how I go, she thought, it wasn't very attractive or elegant but it would have to do.
She felt something like a giant air bubble pushing against her back, urging her out of the water, opening her eyes she saw a towel laid over the bathtub, but she refused to break the surface. Struggling to stay where she was, still not breathing, her face was finally forced out of the water and her body sucked in a huge breath and brought her back.
Now the towel was mostly in the water, covering her as she sat confused and angry at the fact that something just wouldn't let her die.
And the something was right in front of her, mostly visible with just a pale blue sheen surrounding it, staring at its hands.
