"Don't you get tired of this, [YF/N]-san?"

"About what, Ken?" You threw back a question, not bothering to look at him who was walking beside you on the way to the train station. "You come here everyday even though you're from Seijoh and waste money and your time. After a few hours, you have to go back home. Then you repeat the same routine the next day."

"I wanted to see you, Ken. It doesn't matter what I waste. I waste it at my own accord." You reply nonchalantly, tired eyes staring ahead, "You can't come and visit me since you have volleyball practice so I have to be the one to adjust."

"You come and see me, then what?" He stopped in his tracks, a hand placed on your shoulder as he forced you to stop and turn to him. His voice sounded as if he was ticked off, and his face confirmed this, "We greet each other, then you watch practice, and watch, and watch. Then it's time to go home and part. Don't you get tired?"

"You sound like you're tired, Ken." The smile you managed to pull was an exhausted one, one that seemed forced, "Do you want to go home already? I can walk to the station by myself."

"No, [YF/N]. I'm asking you if you are tired! It's always the same routine everyday, don't you think it has become too boring?" His sudden outburst surprised you. "We can text each other, call, even. Don't you think that you cling onto me too much?? Can't we see each other once a week, maybe? Can't we talk every once in a while? I still have to study. I have to give time for it instead of talking so much with you."

You were tired, of course. It was tiring not to see him in the morning. It was tiring not to eat lunch with him. It was tiring that they can't even hold a proper conversation because the only time you get to talk was when he walks you to the station. But you didn't mind. You wanted this, anyway. Texting and calling was growing tiring. It was not the same as you seeing him, hearing him beside you.

Was it selfish of you? You only wanted to see him and be reassured that everything will be all right because he was there. You wanted to reassure yourself that you'll do fine as long as he was there. Was that so wrong? Have you been inconsiderate of his feelings?

"Do you find it tiring, Ken?" You asked, though you sounded unbothered by his outburst, "Are you bothered by it?"

He was taken aback. The grip on your shoulder slipped off and his head bowed down. He was unable to respond, like there was something stopping him to answer.

And silence was an answer for you.

"Go home, Ken." You took in a sharp breath and gave a pat on his shoulder before continuing your way to the train station, not looking back at him.

Shirabu only watched your back that slowly disappeared the farther you went.

He turned his heels and went back to Shiratorizawa, going straight to his dorm room. He checked his phone to see if you had messaged him saying you're on the train like you always do. But there were none. So he waited.

He wondered if he was the one getting tired but he remembers how he'd do better whenever you watched, even if it was just a practice match. He'd be glad whenever you came all the way just to see him. He'd be reassured that, even if studying and volleyball practice were getting difficult, you'd still be by his side to help him, to support him. He felt sorry that you were the one making efforts to see him.
