Today, she has smiled for the first time
in a long while,
It is beautiful for sure,
yet it is also a little fragile.
She is ready to move on
with her life taking a new turn,
But there are still things
she needs to learn and discern.
She has survived and learned to smile
with a heart still torn,
She has waited, done so much more
and she has mourned,
She has cried over the million pieces
of her broken soul,
She has raged as her world ceased,
now she has a new goal.
She has hated and feared
not being able to shine from within,
Once again the sun has risen
and her doubts have dimmed.
Hope has been found buried
in the ashes of her soul's despair,
It's her time to bask
in the warmth of this new sun,
it's only fair.
