Crystalized Emotions

An hour after Lapis left you began to worry. You decided to go search for her.

You looked around the field and even went to the temple. You asked all the gems if they had seen her. None of them had. This only made you worry more.

You went to the woods, to the clearing you and her first fused in. She wasn't there. Not on the shore of the beach, not in the arcade. You searched for about two hours before you returned to the barn.

You walked over the hill and saw Lapis flying above the land. Peridot was yelling up at her and she was yelling back. You couldn't understand the words they were saying. You ran over to them quickly to see what was going on. Upon making it to the barn, you saw the panic that was glowing in Lapis' eyes.

"What about me? What about Steven? Most importantly, What about Y/N?!" Peridot yelled angrily at the blue gem.

"What about y'all?! I can't go through this again!" Tears streamed down Lapis' face.  "I love you and Steven. I also love the other gems. But I can't do this... I can't.." Lapis clenched her fists and closed her eyes tightly. She looked as if she was having a battle with herself.

You walked in front of the barn, Into the view of your lover. "Lapis?" You said her name, asking for her attention.

Her eyes snapped back open and she starred down at you. The two of you locked eyes only for a second. Then she broke eye contact and looked away from you.

"Talk to me Lapis." You called up to her.

More tears streamed down her cheeks. "I can't, I'm sorry Y/N."

"We said that we'd talk to each other. That we would face our fears together. Just talk to me. Please Lapis!"

Lapis didn't speak she kept her eyes casted away from you.

You wait for a second. Then Lapis speaks again, "I'm Sorry Peridot... I'm Sorry Y/N. But I can't do this again." With those final words, water engulfed the barn and ripped it from the ground.

The blue gem flew away with the barn.

You watched her go in disbelief. Had she really just left like that?

You clench your fists tightly and begin to cry. "LAPIS!" You cried after her.

That Nightmare had come true. It had flung itself from your mind and into reality.

You fell to your knees, tears streaming down your cheeks. Ice formed around you. Frost covered your whole body.

Peridot stared at you as your power went haywire. Ice crystals began to form around you. They stood at heights as small as an inch off the ground to 10 feet.

Peridot was unsure of what to do. It was Lapis who did something Everytime you did this. She calmed you down.

Peridot turned to the sky. "I can't believe you did this, Lapis." She said softly, tears forming in her eyes.

Peridot ran off to get the other gems to help take care of you.

Lapis landed upon the moon with the barn.

"What am I doing? This was in her nightmare! I am hurting her! I can't keep running away damn it!!!" Lapis scolded herself as she contemplated what she had done.

She sighed.

She couldn't face home world. She couldn't face the Diamonds.

Lapis walked out of the barn and onto the dusty gray surface of the moon.

She walked into a tall tower. She walked up the spiral staircase and she into one of the rooms.

There was an orb in the room. It was the only thing in the room. Lapis walked to the orb and placed her hand upon it.

The world around her changed. Ice surrounded her on all sides and she was confused for a second. Then it came to her.

She looked around and found you, curled up, and crying. Ice formed quickly around you.

Lapis went to control what in order to melt the ice. She stopped, remembering, she wasn't there with you.

She watched on. The scene before her worsening. She heard as you screamed out her name. She heard your desperate pleas for her to hold you. To love you. To stay with you.

Lapis felt as tears made their way down her cheeks. She couldn't look at this anymore. She wanted it to stop.

She turned the sphere off and the world went back to being just a moon base. Lapis broke down. She couldn't stand what she had seen, but she couldn't go back to Earth. She wouldn't. However, she couldn't bring herself to move any further away.

Garnet broke through the giant barrier of ice that stood between you and her.

It shattered allowing her to see you. Garnet unfused and became Sapphire and Ruby. Ruby used her immense heat to melt the ice all around her while Sapphire tried to soothe you. She tried to bring you back to focus. However, all your mind could focus on was Lapis and how she left you.

You were letting out all your emotions at once. All your anger, pain, regret, sorrow, grief, sadness, and fear.

You couldn't hear the words of those around you as the voices in your head spoke much louder.

They were growing louder and louder and then there was silence. You felt your emotions grow numb, nearly vanish.

Then the voices of the gems around you came into focus.

"It'll be okay Y/N, Calm down." You heard Sapphire speak.

You looked at her. Your eyes dull. You stood up and looked around at the mess you had caused.

You didn't know how to fix it, not did you care.

"Y/N? Are you okay?" Amethyst asked as she walked into the center of the ice mess.

"I'm fine now." You spoke. It almost sounded programmed.

"You sure?"

"Yes." Was your only response before you began to walk away.

Ruby and Sapphire came together and formed Garnet again. "Y/N." She spoke. "Talk to us."

"There isn't anything to talk about." You stated, looking over your shoulder. "I'm going home. I'll see you all again... Eventually." With that, you looked straight ahead and began to walk.

None of the gems made to stop you, knowing you needed space. Weather or not it was the right choice, they'll only know with time.
