(3) Taking Over

~ Kayla POV ~

I wake up in a comfortable bed and when I looked around, Addy wasn't here. Then, right on cue, I heard yelling downstairs.

"WHAT THE FUCK DAD!? IM NOT JOKING! I THINK THAT I ACTUALLY FOUND THE ONE! WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME!?"

Off of the bat, I knew Addy was pissed. Why is he mad and who is he talking about? I get out of the bed and walk downstairs. As soon as I make it down the stairs, I follow the voices and it leads me all the way into the kitchen.

~ Addison POV ~

Currently, I wanna punch my dad straight in the fucking mouth. We are both arguing because I told him in confidence that I found the one. Of course, he thinks that I'm lying and is only planning to have her as a sex object.

"DAD IM TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING AND YOUR ACTING LIKE A TOTAL DICK!"

I hear a little gasp behind us and we both shoot our heads to Kayla. My dad looks at her and takes her all in. I walk up to Kayla and she instantly hugs me. I was wondering why but I didn't want her to let me go so I hug her body back.

She pulls away and looks me dead in the eyes before doing the unexpected. She punches my side and gives me an angry look.

"Apologize to your dad now!" She yells at me.

"Kayla, how much did you hear?"

"Not a lot but apologize now!" She demands. This girl will literally be the death of me. I turn around and face my dad.

"Sorry" I mumble under my breath.

"I'm sorry what did you say?" My dad teases and cups his ear. I groan and speak up this time.

"I'm sorry ok?! I need to go somewhere real quick! Kayla my dad can take you home." I say pissed off and go to my man Jared's house so I can let all of my anger out.

~ Kayla POV ~

A tear slips down my face as he slams the door. His dad comes next to me and pats my back in comfort.

"Hey it's ok, he gets mad easily when he is forced to do something. I'll take you home now if that's ok?"

I wipe my tears and nod my head yes before walking into his dads car and we drive to my house in silence. The only time someone spoke was to give directions.

When he pulled into my driveway, I thanked him and got out. I got inside my house and my mom, Crystal, and my dad was sitting in the living room staring at me with huge grins.

Tears start to brim my eyes and eventually a tear slips. Their faces instantly turn into confusion. My mom gets up and stands in front of me.

"Sweetie, what's wrong?"

I shake it off and run upstairs into my room, lock the door and ball my eyes out. When everything seemed to go great, I had to ruin it. For now on, I have to keep my distance. It's going to be hard though since my best friend is dating his best friend.

~ Addison POV ~

As soon as I got there, I just walk into his house and head straight to his room. His parents are never home and he's always in his room playing 2k.

As soon as I walk in, he saves his game, turns everything off, and listens to me rant out random things. Now that's what you call a mf best friend.

After my rant, I sit down on his bed next to him and sigh.

"Okay so what the hell got you to rant this time?" He asks.

"Kayla got me like this man. She is slowly taking over me and she doesn't even notice. Today my dad and I got in an argument over her and she made ME apologize to him for calling him a dick! So I just left and came straight over here."
