(19) Saying Stupid Things

~ Kayla POV ~

I finally decided to get up and I went straight into the shower. I just sat there the whole time and let the water fall all over my body.

How can I be so stupid? He only wanted to start a family with me. I had to be a bitch and ruin it. God, I gotta get ready for work. I'm going to have to push through it and get these photos ready for another meeting with Addison and some other business.

I sigh and I finally get out of the shower and I get dressed. I throw on a pair of black ripped jeans and a white long sleeve shirt that buttons down in the front. I pair it up with my black boots and I leave out.

When I make it to work, everyone's eyes were on me. I wouldn't blame them. I look like shit. My face is stained from dry tears and I have dark circles under my eyes. I walk into my office and there sat Crystal and our lovely boss.

He looks up at me and signals me to close the door. I close the door and sit down in my computer chair. My office was silence until my boss spoke up.

"So I heard you and Addison had another fall out. Will this effect our partnership with his company?" He asks.

I shake my head no and rub my tired eyes. "No sir, it won't. It will just go back to being more professional. I can promise that. Who owns the other company that we are pairing up with?" I ask while gathering the photographs together.

Crystal then decides to speak up. "His name is Kyle (picture above) and he is the world's second biggest jewelry company. He is so handsome but obviously not as handsome as my baby daddy." She jokes and flips her hair.

We all laugh and I put the photographs in my file holders. I gather them all together. "Well shall we meet this so call handsome man?" I joke. We all walk into the conference room and wait for the guys to come. I'm not ready to face him, but I have to in order to keep my job.

~ Addison POV ~

As I'm standing in the elevator, I'm talking to Kyle. He is another jewelry company and he comes right after mine. He seems a little annoying, but overall he is a good guy. He reminds me of a nicer and more playful version of me.

"So I heard you and the most beautiful Kayla broke up. I'm sorry." He says with his strong Australian accent. The mention of her name made me skip a breath.

I play it off and nod my head at him. "You're good man. Besides, it probably would've have to end soon since both of our companies are teaming up together."

He nods in agreement and pats my shoulder. "You'll find the right one man. I do have a question if I may ask?" He says. I can already guess the question.

I look over at him and nod; waiting for him to proceed. He takes a deep breath and says exactly what I thought he would. "If I tried to get with Kayla, would that ruin our friendship? I need to know that you completely moved on from her."

I sigh and think for a second. AmI really ready to move on from her? She clearly doesn't want to start a family with me so I need to move on and find someone new.

"Yeah man, go for it." He smiles and thanks me. The elevator bell rings and the door opens. We both walk inside the conference room and she's the first only that I look at. She looks terrible. She clearly is taking the breakup hard.

Her boss (George) gets up and shakes our hands. "Welcome gentlemen. Shall we get started? We will have my assistant Kayla and co-assistant Crystal included in this meeting as well. Shall that be a problem?"

Kyle and I shake our head no and move to shake the girl's hands. I look at Crystal and shake her hand first while Kyle goes to shake Kayla's. I did feel a ping of jealousy when I heard her little giggles, but I ignore it.

~ Kayla POV ~

Crystal wasn't lying. He is handsome indeed. He takes my hand and kisses the back of it. It tickles so I giggle a little. "Are you the beautiful mysterious Kayla?" He asks. I smile and nod my head.

"The one and only. Thank you for partnering up with this company. You will not be disappointed." I say. He smiles at me and I smile back.

"Oh trust me, I will be far from disappointed." He says in his Australian accent. God his voice is so sexy. Wait Kayla, break out of it. You literally just got out of a break up. Don't move on so soon.

I nod and the painful 3 hours of Crystal and I explaining and pointing starts.

~ Addison POV ~

The whole time my eyes were on Kayla. She definitely noticed because every time she would look at me, she would brush it off and look back at Kyle.

I'm starting to get even more jealous when they would make eye contact and she blushes. I'm the only one that should make her blush. God, I sound possessive. Maybe I should get more involved in my gang. She's out of my life so I don't have to worry about her getting involved.

"Are there any questions gentlemen?" She asks; breaking me out of my train of thought. Kyle raises his hand lightly and she looks over at him and smiles.

He looks over at George and smiles hard. "George, how did you find this lovely lady and her friend? They are really good, especially Kayla here. Better watch out before I take her." He jokes but deep down, I feel that he is being more personal.

I groan in annoyance and everyone's eyes are on me. George raises a brow and chuckles. "Are you fine over there Addison? Wouldn't want you dying on us?" He jokes.

I fake a smile and grab my stuff. "As much as I would love to watch whatever this is, I have more important things to do. George, I expect another meeting soon and maybe we would make this one a little more private." I made out clearly before walking out and slamming the door behind me.

~ Kayla POV ~

As soon as he walks out, I roll my eyes and scoff. Everyone looks at me and starts laughing causing me to laugh. After a while, we stopped laughing and gathered our breaths. My boss gets up and hugs my side.

"You did excellent as well as Crystal. You need to stop attracting guys though. It's driving us all crazy." He jokes. Crystal and I chuckle as Kyle grins from afar.

"I mean it's not my fault. They can't take no as an answer. Plus, who can resist this?" I ask and whip my braids back with a little sass. Crystal and my boss raise their hands and I mumble a quiet shut up. They both laugh and hug me once before leaving Kyle and I to pack up.

As we were packing up, he couldn't keep this eyes off of my body. It's like he's taking a mental note of what I look like. I look up at him and smile awkwardly. He walks up to me and stands behind me. I instantly stop moving and my breathing shortens.

His breath is fanning on the side of my neck and I instantly shiver. He chuckles deeply and leaves little kisses on my neck. I wanted to moan so bad since it was one of my most sensitive spots, but then he would get the wrong idea.

"K-Kyle we need to stop. This is so wrong......and I just met you." I stutter out. Damn it, I thought Addison was the only person who could get me this way.

He chuckles softly and pecks my neck once again and hugs me from behind. "Dinner at the Fairlands Castle (made up restaurant). I'll pick you up at 5. Dress casually. And I'm not asking princess." He whispers before pecking my cheek and leaving me frozen in the room.

What the hell? Why is he exactly like Addison? Why is he making me feel this way? Is this my second chance? I'm so confused, but all I know is that I have a date to get ready for soon.
