ANDATE PRESTO AL MERCATO E IL PIÙ TARDI POSSIBILE PER COMBATTERE
CHAPTER 24
"Go early to market and as late as you can to battle."
"We just received word from the U.S. that the U.S.S Gettysburg has struck the target." Mr. Тие informed the others.
"Have we been able regain contact with our agents in the area?" asked Mrs. Три.
"We are trying all the houses in Ohio. So far we have only confirmed contact with houses in the southern half of the state." answered Mr. Две.
"Then we cannot confirm the status of Mr. Faulkner or the squad we sent in to investigate?" queried Mr. Тие.
"As of now that is correct. All communication with any house above Columbus have been met with silence on all forms of communication even though we can confirm they are working in the civilian sector." replied Mr. Две.
"So they are ignoring us then?" Mrs. Три snapped.
"We don't know yet. The only way we can confirm the situation at this point is to send in another recon squad." countered Mr. Две.
"We don't have much choice. Assemble a team of Reapers. We need to know what's going on in that area no matter the cost. The unidentified satellite is gone and we have communications now. I want to know what is going on within the hour." ordered Mr. Тие.
"It will take a half an hour to get the team into position and transported to the DZ. We can send another team in now but none of them will be Reapers." answered Mrs. Три.
"No, I want Reapers to go in. I'm done playing, I want results. Get them there and get me a Sit-rep!" Mr. Тие commanded.
...
Beathen fumbled with the buttons of his FRACU shirt as he made his way back to the CIC. Ash had decided, and he agreed, that they should stager their arrival. They were all adults and it would be hard to hide what had happened in such a small group but there was no reason to rub their noses in it. Though now he was more worried about the battle than he had been before. He was still willing to do anything to stop Wakahisa, but now he was worried that something might happen to Ash.
Maybe that's why Lilith didn't want me to tell her, he thought.
No matter what he still had a duty to fulfill and friends to help in the coming battle.
"So we got anything yet?" he said to Ruaraidh once he was near.
Ruaraidh looked at his watch in surprise "I thought you'd be back twenty minutes ago lad! What ya been doing crying about yer poor performance!?" he replied, barely able contain himself.
"Ha Ha, you can get it out of your system on the drive there. Now, have we made any progress yet or not?" Beathen asked dryly.
"Oh I we've made loads of progress since you two disappeared. Not like we ad anything better ta do." he chided.
"Mr. Faulkner, nice of you to join us once again, we were just starting the discussion on how we should move ahead with the assault. If you're not too busy that is." Gott said completely deadpan.
"Yes Sir, what do we know so far?" Beathen answered.
"We know that the most likely place she would be using is the First Methodist Church in Cleveland. It was abandoned because some kind of experiment preformed there shattered the protection spells woven in the walls of the Sanctum Sanctorum. This caused anyone with a large amount of latent magikal energy to go insane. The way I understand it, half the house went crazy and killed the rest. It took a sizable taskforce to regain control of the house. Even then they abandoned the house because of immerging symptoms in others who entered the house. Thankfully, the protection spells in the rest of the house held and stopped the entire area from going insane as well." Gott replied, making his way to a slide projector they had set up.
