Chapter 24

I know I haven't updated in almost a month! Ugh! I feel terrible! I got so caught up in my book 'I Fight Back',that I totally forgot! I'm so sorry, and I'll try to make sure that it doesn't happen again! But, before I let you go, I want to tell you a little but about my book 'I Fight Back'. In the span of two days Claire's life will be flipped upside down. She will learn things about herself that she never thought possible. "Oh." I said as we parked in front of Stefan's house. I stepped out of the car as Bonnie and Elena ran outside towards the car smiling big. I opened Aurora's door and unbuckled her seat picking up the carrier as we walked inside with Bonnie and Elena looking at her, with Rebekah behind us all.

"Can I hold her?" Elena asked excited while I sat her carrier beside the couch and I took her out.

"Sure." I smiled and took off her jacket sitting it in the seat, then kissing her head I handed her to the excited Elena.

"So, what's going on?" Bonnie asked worried.

"I'm leaving." I said knowing I wouldn't be able to lie to her.

"What? Why?" She asked worried.

"Someone compelled Dr. Fell. We don't know who, but I need to keep Aurora safe." I said.

"As much as I would love for you to stay, I understand." Bonnie said sadly as she hugged me.

"You never know. I might need your witchyness." I whispered to her and she nodded her head.

"Are you coming with us?" I asked Stefan looking at Rebekah who blushed.

"Yeah." Stefan chuckled embarrassed.

"Good. Oh my God! Tyler!" I said apoplectically as I remembered the baby possibly being his. I ran towards him hugging him.

"I'm so sorry! I will find out." I said wanting to slap myself as I forgot the baby is supposed to be dead.

"How? He's dead." He said upset.

"I don't know. I'll find something. Okay?" I asked with my hand on his cheek.

"Thank you, Caroline. Keep her safe." He said as he nodded his head sorrowful, then trying to smile encouragingly, although I knew it was hard for him. I smiled and nodded my head to him smiling sadly, then turning towards Damon.

"I never thought I would say this, but thank you Damon. I think I'll miss you." I laughed a I smiled at him while others laughed with me.

"I'll miss you too, Blondie." He said smirking sadly. I smiled and gave him a hug as he gave me a pat on the back hugging me. Then I turned towards Jeremy.

"You." I pointed teasingly.

"Me? What did I do?" He asked smiling.

"Keep her safe. I will come back here and kick your butt, if she gets hurt." I threatened smiling at him and he laughed and picked me up in a bear hug knowing I was talking about Bonnie.

"I will." He laughed.

*Ring

'Hello?' I asked embarrassed as I turned around.

'We've decided it would be best if you have Niklaus protecting you, and Aurora." Elijah said.

'So, you'll be the one to leave?' I asked trying to cover up my shock.

'Yes. Is that all right with you?' He asked unsure.

'Sure! I gave you two the decision.' I said.

'Okay. I'll see you in a few days, Caroline.' Elijah said.

'Okay! Bye! I'll miss you!' I said trying to hide my sadness.

'Goodbye.' He said hanging up. I sighed putting the phone back in my pocket running my hands through my hair. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Rebekah looking worriedly down at me.

"Are you all right?" She asked.

"Fine." I said giving her a fake smile. After a few minutes of Bonnie and Elena bickering over who got to hold the baby, Bonnie has her and I started to finish my goodbyes again.

"I'll miss you, Matt." I smiled sadly.

"I'll miss you too, Care." He said as he hugged me tightly.

"I'll miss you Caroline!" Elena said with unshed tears.

"I'll miss you too! I'll try to update you on Aurora as much as I can!" I said to her as I felt a tear fall down my cheek.

"Ugh! Don't cry! I'm going to cry!" Elena gushed and Bonnie ran over to me as if this was out last group hug. I heard a baby squawking noise and felt my insides melt with panic until I turned around and saw Damon holding Aurora smiling at her as he tickled her toes.

"Do you have anything left here that you want to take?" Stefan asked as he stood beside Rebekah.

"No. I have a few things here, but they're at my Moms. I'd like to keep the rest there." I said holding back tears and he smiled while nodding his head. I looked over where Aurora just was and saw Jeremy holding her as Damon coached him on how to hold her without hurting her.

"You two should adopt. I know it isn't the same, but you two would be perfect parents. Well if Damon didn't drink as much, you'll be fine." I said laughing as Damon glared at me when I told her about his drinking problem.

"I think I will. Just maybe after some of our old enemies are gone." Elena said and I felt my mood go sour fast.
