Chapter 26

"Are you all right, Caroline?" Stefan asked as he sat beside me.

"Yeah. Where's Rebekah and Aurora?" I lied.

"I think you should come look for yourself." Stefan said smiling. I looked at him confused and smiled then jumped up holding onto his arm.

"Well lets go!" I laughed. We interlocked our arms as Stefan guided us upstairs to the room to the left of where I was staying at. I looked at him confused and he put his finger to his lips silencing me. He put his finger to his ear and I moved a piece of hair away from my ear listening in on the room. I heard the soft beat of Aurora's little heart and her soft breathing letting me know she was asleep. I then heard someone else's soft breathing and I knew Rebekah was with Aurora so I knew they had fell asleep together. I slowly reached my hand towards the doorknob and turned it. I gasped at what was before me. There was a little brown mahogany crib with a big light brown teddy bear in the corner of it as crystal chimes hung down from the ceiling overtop of the crib. The room was painted a light cream color, while white little painted clouds were at the top of the walls and painted stars on the ceiling. In a corner a white leather recliner where Rebekah was sleeping with Aurora in her arms. Under the window was an oak dresser filled with baby clothes, and on the dresser were handmade intricate designs. It looks beautiful. Even better than I thought I could ever make it. I thought happily.

"Do you like it?" Stefan whispered smiling.

"It's beautiful. Thank you." I whispered and he shook his head.

"I didn't do it." He said and I looked at him confused.

"Then who did?" I asked curiously.

"Klaus." He said. I looked in the room and it made sense, but why would he do this?

"Why?" I asked confused.

"I know you're with Elijah, now. But, he still cares about you." Stefan said leaving me speechless.

"I.. uh... hmh... I." I stuttered at a lose for words.

"Go talk to him." Stefan said nudging my shoulder.

"Okay." I whispered. I slowly walked out of Aurora's room as I made my way to Klaus' studio. Caroline Forbes get it together! Talk to him. He killed Elijah! He also saved me twice. No he didn't. He saved us more than that. Remember Alaric? He tried to kill me and he kidnapped me! I thought fighting an internal battle.

"Are you going to come in, or are you going to stare at the door all night?" Klaus asked from inside his studio, most likely smirking. I took a deep breath, and opened the door slowly walking inside of his studio.

"Hey." I said awkwardly as I walked in and saw him painting a picture.

"Hello, love. What can I do for you?" He asked not taking his eyes off of the easel.

"I saw what you did to Aurora's room." I whispered looking at the ground, hearing him sigh I looked back up towards him.

"Its the very least I could do, since what I put you through. I am sorry, for what I did." He said.

"You just apologized." I whispered shocked.

"I did." He chuckled.

"Can I get that on video?" I asked teasing.

"No." He said as he glared at me smiling.

"Thank you." I said smiling and he smirked shaking his head. I walked over beside him to look at his painting, but was cut short as I heard Aurora crying.

"I need to go." I said rushed as I sped out of there to Auroras room. I ran in and saw her in Kol's arms as he tried to calm her. He was trying to shush her as he rocked her side to side making me chuckle.

"You're a thousand's years old, and you don't know how to calm a baby." I said smiling as I grabbed Aurora from him. I put my hand on her bottom as I laid her head on my chest then I slowly rocked her side to side soothing her to sleep.

"I was doing that." He said sounding annoyed and shocked.

"You were panicking. You have to be calm." I whispered as I looked down at her as she laid sprawled out in my arms asleep.

"You're so good with her." Stefan said smiling.

"Thanks." I whispered, band looked over towards Rebekah who was fighting to keep her eyes open, and I saw Kol doing the same.

"Go to bed. I can handle her." I said.

"No. We're fine." Rebekah whispered as she slowly stood.

"Go." I laughed as I pointed towards the door.

"You don't have to tell me twice." Kol joked as he yawned, and walked out. I looked at Stefan, and glared at him then nodded my head in Rebekah's direction where she was leaning on the wall sleepily.

"Come on. Let's go to bed." He whispered to her as he picked her up bridal style and whispered bye to me and left. I chuckled as Rebekah hung onto Stefan and he left the room. I slowly sat down in the recliner Rebekah was in earlier. I slowly dialed Elijah's number careful not to wake Aurora.

'Elijah speaking.' He said formally.

'Hi to you two.' I said sarcastically.

'How are you and Aurora?' He asked.

'Fine. Did you know what Klaus did to her room?' I asked in amazement.

'I'm sorry. I have to go.' He said hanging up.

"I miss you two." I whispered said looked at my phone and sighed as I sat it on the arm of the chair. I slowly leaned back in the chair as Aurora laid across my arms, and closed my eyes.

"Hello, Caroline." Seraphene said.

"Hi." I said cheerful.

"How's life with a baby?" She asked smiling.

"It's great. She's amazing." I laughed.

"We need to talk about Aurora." She said serious.
