Klaus could not believe his eyes. All he could see was the mascara smeared under her eyes from crying, her bloody hands, and her disheveled hair. As soon as Klaus went to uncuff her, she opened her eyes screaming. "Stop, please, no!"
Klaus backed up immediately, almost tripping over his own feet. He raised his arms in a surrendering position. "It's okay Caroline, it's me love."
She looked at him with stunning eyes. "You came for me," she cried.
It broke his heart to see her like this. Of course he came for her, where else would he go. She's his home, his everything. Without her, he is nothing. Nothing matters to him unless she's there to share it. "I'll always come for you."
She stared at him for what felt like hours. She was completely in love with this man. The most powerful man in the world, quite literally, came to rescue her. She's just a baby vampire compared to Klaus, she hasn't even begun to know what being a vampire is about. She loved this man so much, and never truly knew how to tell him. She loved him from the second he showed her attention. She was completely different from when they first met. When they met, she felt as if she needed validation from everyone. But the thing is, she never received it. That is, until she met Klaus. Klaus never made her feel like second best. To him, she was first. Hell, he saved her over his sister one time. With Klaus, she didn't feel like she had to act like someone else to be noticed. She could be herself. She didn't have to worry about what not to talk about and what to talk about. She didn't have to worry about whether he liked a certain color on her or her hair a certain way. She always knew that she loved him, but it was wrong. How could she love the enemy? The man that was literally trying to drain the blood from her best friend's body. But she couldn't help it. She knew it was wrong, so she pushed those feelings down. However, pushing them down didn't work, so she pushed him away. She pushed him away, but hated herself for it when he was really gone. She was heartbroken, but she couldn't be mad at anyone but herself. But then she saw that Elena and Damon, and she knew it was her turn to be happy. So, she went to the only person that truly made her happy, Klaus.
And here we are, her favorite man rescuing her. She stared at him with adoration and love; no hatred or anger. A tear fell down her face as a smile crept up. "Thank you."
Klaus proceeded to uncuff her, wiping the tears off her face. "No need to thank me, love." Klaus gestured his wrist to her mouth, wanting her to drink from him. She was weak, very weak. She could barely stand, much less walk out of here. Klaus wouldn't mind to carry her out, but he knew there would be enemies coming at him from all angles. All his focus needs to be on Caroline, and he can't do that with distractions.
Caroline takes his wrist, and indulges in it. She feels a sense of hunger take over her, probably from the lack of blood in her system. She doesn't think she can stop and to be honest, she doesn't want to. But she has to. So with all of her self control left, she stops, even though her inner vampire side is begging for more.
Caroline slowly stands up with the help of Klaus. They make their way to the doorway when Klaus and Elijah make eye contact. In a matter of seconds, Elijah is by their side, fighting off anyone who comes near them. "Let me help," Caroline protests. She doesn't want to feel like a burden, she wants to fight alongside everyone else.
"Not a chance, love. Can't risk losing you again." Klaus manages to say, while simultaneously snapping the necks of werewolves.
Caroline looks at Klaus, hesitating to do what she actually wants to. Klaus told her no, but since when does she listen? She may not be at her strongest right now, but she's certainly strong enough to where Klaus doesn't need to look after her every move. So, she fights back. She fights back with every ounce of strength and energy she has. The people tortured her and the others sat back and listened. Caroline is not one for killing unless it comes to people she loves, but these vampires, werewolves, and witches deserved it. What did they get out of hurting her? Absolutely nothing.
