To Edward, the three hour drive to Seattle seemed to slide by quickly, as Edward drove Emmett's red Jeep Wrangler up the free way, to dispose of Bonnie's unconscious father.
For Emmett, perched in the passenger seat next to Edward, one the other hand, the drive was slowly killing him, burning him from the inside out, as all he wanted to do was go home and watch the game he had recorded. And what made Edwards drive that little bit better, was listening to Emmett's thoughts, silently laughing to himself.
But Emmetts thoughts were drowned out, unable to be heared by Edward, as Bonnie's unconscious father started to stir in the back.
Emmett looked behind him, to the mess of a man sprawled out on the back seat, covered in blood. The smell made both Emmett and Edward's mouths water, reminding them both they hadnt hunted in over a week.
As the city lights started to flutter around them, it was clear to see at 2am, on a Sunday morning, Seattle was just awakening.
"What are we going to do with him?" Emmett spoke, looking at him in the back seat, as blood poured from the gaping wound on his head, onto Emmetts black leather seats. "Seriously? His blood is all over my Jeep." Edward let out a slight sarcastic laugh as Emmett sulked like a child. "If Rose gets pissed, I'm blaming it on you."
"Whatever." Edward spoke, pulling into an empty carpark belonging to a Macy's store. Edward parked at the middle of the empty lot. "We're going to compell him."
Emmett let out a sarcastic laugh, "What? We could have compelled him back home!"
"Emmett, shut up." Edward said, hoping out of the Wrangler, and swinging the backseat door open, revealing Bonnies father. Emmett followed, standing next to Edward, hands on his hips. Edward stood next to him, contemplating what to do. Thats when Emmett thought of an idea.
"Good idea." Edward spoke, looking to Emmett.
"Dude, you gotta stop that. Besides, its not that good." But Emmett was wrong, it was actually quite a good idea. He thought about compelling Bonnies father to sober up, and start a new life in Seattle, to forget his children and become a better person.
"How many dollars have you got on you?" Edward looked to Emmett. He pulled out his leather wallet, and revealed a wad of notes. " 'bout a hundred. Here." Emmett reached it to Edward, already knowing his plan.
"Reach into my wallet in the drivers seat, get all thats in it." Emmett followed Edwards orders, and as he retrieved the money and counted it, Edward pulled the sick bastard from the back seat, when he was just becoming conscious, and pinned him against the Wrangler.
"What the fuck?" he spat in Edwards face, as the smell of stale alcohol filled Edwards nostrils, causing him to wince. Edward banged him against the Wrangler, as the blood dripped from his head. Edward stared into his lazy eyes, pinning him, as Emmett came to his side, holding a brown envelope he found in his glove compartment and shoved the money into.
"Your going to forget about Bonnie and Michael. Your going to forget about Forks, about earlier about it all. Your going to take this money and start a new life here. You are going to sober up, meet a nice woman and treat her well. You'll forget about your dead wife and your going to live a happy, normal life here, and forget about being the sick bastard you once were."
As his pupils widened, he croaked, "I'll forget."
Edward dropped him to the ground, where he slumped against a tree next to the Wrangler.. Emmett threw the money to him as he was coming to his senses a little more. "Sick bastard." Emmett spat silently to himself as he and Edward silently stalked away from the compelled mess by the tree, and towards the wrangler. "I'll drive." Emmett spoke, making for the drivers seat. Silently, Edward nodded, before walking to the passenger seat. Before climbing in, he took one last look to Bonnies father, gathering himself up from the tree and looking around, scared. Edward let out a deep breath that he wasnt aware he was holding in, before climbing in next to Emmett.
