↬ Janette P.O.V

I didn't notice I had a crush on Jonathan, but I hated it. I didn't want to go through another hard time. But I couldn't do anything about it. This was after his last relationship with Melissa. I was happy for him that he found someone but I felt sad that they broke up. And then that's when I found out I liked him.  And you know what kinda made me happy? He asked for my phone  number! But as i mentioned before I hated he fact that I did. He was single for quite some time until my birthday.

Texts

Me: oof my cousin just came and fell on the floor.

Jonathan: ilyt♥️

Me: um

Jonathan: omg I'm so sorry that was meant for someone else I'm so sorry.

Me: it's alright

Jonathan: ugh why am I such a dumbass

//My birthday//

"Sara come here"
"What's up Janette?"
"So um Jonathan sent me this"
I showed Sara the messages. She didn't know I liked him yet. Her reaction wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting her to be like "ew what the heck?" But her reaction was completely different. She ran while screaming.
"What's wrong?"
"Come here. I dont know if I should tell you though."
"It's fine I promise I won't tell anyone"
"Ok then, me and Jonathan are dating! That message was meant for me.."
What.. I like him. I could tell my expression change rapidly. Sara looked kinda worried when she saw my reaction. Instead of saying "oh..um Sara I like him too.." I said
"Awe congrats Sara! Hope y'all last long."
"Thanks Janette, but are you ok with that?"
"Yeah why wouldn't I be-"
"Janette do you have water I'm thirsty" jane interrupted.
"Uh yeah. Who else wants water?"
Everyone said me.
"Woah ok um..I need someone to hel-"
"Come I'll help you Janette" Sara told me.
I didn't feel like talking to her. But I didn't do anything I didn't want to make a scene. I walked inside the house, or should I said speed walked.
"Janette is there something wrong?"
"No"
My God sister saw us talking.
"Janette please tell me are you alright? You seemed kinda sad when I told you."
"I'm fine Sara. Here take them." I lied. I wasn't fine. I felt really sad. And I found out on my birthday.  I walked back outside pretending like I was happy and I definitely didn't find out my crush was dating my friend. But to be honest I was kinda happy. Mostly sad but I was happy to see my friend happy. We continued the party until everyone left. Sara and I did a sleep over. Which I really wanted to cry that night. Because I also texted Jonathan and he said it was true.
