Mask Off, Spot On

Chapter 5.2

When your head finally gave out, and tombed over to the side, you didn't fall to the ground, for a shoulder suddenly layed out support for it.

You suddenly wake up and notice the shining Sun above you, and you stretch out your body with a yawn.
You look around you only to notice the rest of your team wasn't there, which made your senses grow more alert. You looked up to the sky once again only to notice the Sun had already made its way to the very center of the sky.

"...That's not right... it's midday already?" You whisper to yourself, before you inspect your surroundings once again. There truly weren't any traces of your team left around you.

But you did notice somehow, that the crown of trees that surrounded you was different from the one you'd fallen asleep under the night before.

But was it even the night before?

Taking into account your situation, you'd probably been kidnapped.

So you might've been out for days already... you couldn't tell.

"Man, I thought Konoha's shinobi were tougher than that!" A voice said from afar, laughter accompanying it.

"A small smoke bomb put everyone out. I didn't expect someone to join them after that."

"Yeah, we only had one bomb so we had to bring the girl with us, regardless, she may have some useful information for us..."

You listen intently to the two's conversation.

You could've ran away by now, but you didn't know where you were to know where to go.

Two men show up in your field of vision and you glare at the two, as they laugh once their eyes fall onto your face.

"So, you're up already, woman?" One of them says. You instantly reach for you weapons pouch, but you find it's not there anymore.

'Of course...'

"If you're looking for that stupid bag of yours, we threw it away long ago. Now, be a good girl and sit down, tell us everything you know about that package and of who has it." The other man said, making you raise a brow in confusion.

"What package?" You ask, as the two began to once again laugh at you.

"The one you received in the Sand! Woman, work that brain of yours!"

The two nearly fell to the floor with laughter, as you simply smirked in response. All you knew of the 'package' was that Kakashi had it, and that it was a scroll. But even the minimalistic amount of info, you'd never give it to these men.

"It's with one of the strongest shinobi of all of the Leaf. You'll never acquire it." You answer back.

'Except for me, all of the members of Konoha's team 7 are some of the strongest in the Leaf: two future Hokages, an apprentice of the current Hokage, and one of the last Uchihas.'
You thought to yourself.

"Great. We'll just hire 'em to get it for us, then!" The shinobi laughed in response, making your body tensen up.

"...Hire who?"

"Who else? Those guys that have been searchin' everywhere for those world class destructive beasts! You're people fom Konoha, so they'll for sure want you. We'll give y'a to 'em as payment."

Your blood froze...

"The... Akatsuki..."

And began travelling backwards...

"How... in the first place...?"

You had to run. No matter where, just far away from here, and the Akatsuki. You had to warn your teammates, to get Naruto away.

Because you were caught, the plot was already taking yet another drastic turn.

As the two men approached you, their hands ready to grab your neck, your eyes suddenly snapped wide open.
You quickly bite your finger and let its blood travel through your palm, as you scream:

"Summoning jutsu! Come, Grey!"

Grey appears in a sudden bomb of smoke, growling at the two men that kidnapped you. You could tell from Grey's gaze that he'd already caugh onto your idea, and so, you fled away.

Soon enough, your summoned caught onto you, and you immediately asked:
"Can you smell anyone? Naruto, sensei...?"

"...I can smell the tailed beast."

You nod in response, letting Grey run ahead of you for you to follow.
From afar, you begin to hear sounds of clashing weapons and paper bombs exploding.

You and Grey hide behind a bush once you reach closer to the area of the fight, so that you could analyse the situation.

Your eyes widen at the sight of Naruto's skin ripped apart into the red possession of Nine Tails, and Sasuke wasn't anywhere nearby.

Sakura was a little further back and Kakashi stood behind Naruto, a big injury bleeding out on his ribcage area.
Your guess: Kakashi-sensei got injured to protect Naruto, and Naruto went havoc.

Sakura was fighting someone else, and Sasuke was probably as well, in some other place you couldn't tell from.

Their opponents, from what you could see: Deidara, Kisame, and... Tobi.

Meaning, Obito was here.
Meaning, their objective was Naruto, and the way things were now, they were headed in a good direction.

Sakura was fighting against Deidara on her own, your sensei was basically out, Naruto was better off collapsing than he was to fighting, and Sasuke was only Hokage knew where.

Your body felt like it would tumble over to the side in fear, but you had to do something.
Whilst the fighting seemed to have momentarily paused so that the Akatsuki members could enjoy the view of Naruto's rampage, you took your chance to jump into the scene....

Though, don't worry. I won't make your character overpowered nor way too weak. I just wanted to make it so that [Y/N] could be a little more relatable and realistic.
