The group all made it back into the Hilltop's walls safely. Daryl yanked the still unconscious girl out of the SUV and carried her wedding style up to the trailer where Dr. Carson was located.

"Doc!" Daryl yelled, kicking the door open.

"What happened?" Dr. Carson asked as Daryl laid her down on the bed.

"She was captured and beat," Daryl said backing away from them, but watching closely.

"Tegan, Tegan. Can you hear me?" Dr. Carson asked opening the girls eye to check it with a light.

"Is she...is she going to be okay?" Daryl asked with a cracking voice. Rick had come up next to his friend.

"I think it's best if you wait outside," Dr. Carson said. To be honest, he wasn't sure how this would turn out. If it went bad he didn't want Daryl in there.

"Come on, Daryl. She is in good hands. There is nothing we can do right now," Rick said grabbing his friends shoulder. Daryl nodded following his friend out the door.

"How is she?" Maggie asked running up to the men.

"Not sure, yet," Rick mumbled as he watched Daryl's face closely.

Daryl's head was spinning. He promised to protect her. He promised nothing would happen to her and now shes in there dying. It's all his fault. How could he be so dumb?

Without another thought he went to the car and grabbed his crossbow. He didn't say word to anyone as he walked out the gates and into the woods.

"Daryl!" Rick called after him, but he didn't even earn a head turn.

"Where's he going?" Maggie asked, running a hand through her short brown hair.

"I'm not sure," Rick said.

Daryl wasn't thinking straight, if he was even thinking at all. He didn't hear the man screaming after him or the sounds of the walkers coming towards him. His tunnel vision clouded everything around him. A decaying bag of bones grabbed his arm, but he spun around and stabbed it through the back of the head with his hunting knife. It dropped hard to the ground with a thump.

More walkers came out of the woods and Daryl took them on one by one without taking notice to a young female standing back watching him. Her long black hair was pulled up tight into a ponytail. Two giant black wolf dogs stood at her hips. It wasn't until the last walker fell that the girl spoke.

"Damn," she whispered causing Daryl to spin and throw his knife right at her head. She ducked with just a second to spare as it buried into the tree behind her.

"Who are you?" Daryl snarled holding his crossbow up to his eye.

"Whoa, I would put that down," the girl warned as the two giant dogs growled at Daryl.

"Are those wolves?" He asked mesmerized by the beautiful black beast.

"Sure are! Now, we were just passing through when I saw you. Thought maybe you could use some help, looks like you got it covered though," she laughed looking around at the dead rotten flesh on the ground.

"Are you alone?" Daryl asked lowering the crossbow.

"Its just Impala, Fang, and I. Has been since the start. We've come across a few people, but never stayed with anyone for too long," she told the redneck.

"What's your name?" Daryl asked.

"Angie. How about you?" The black haired girl asked. Her pale skin twinkled in the sunlight.
