The flight to Ahch-To was silent. Rey didn't say a word once we took off from base. I could tell she was having a mental battle with herself and I didn't want to make things more stressful for her. Instead, I study the unknown spacecraft that I have never seen before. The first thing i notice was the a negative feeling through our force-bond. I could sense something bad happened that is related to Rey, but I can't understand what it is.I glance over to realize that she had a somber expression while looking aimlessly into space. I try and ponder on why she has such a mournful presence. I try and press away the sad feelings and try and think of the problems that we will have to face ahead.
We soon arrive to the bare and stormy planet. Rey lands the ship on one of the Rocky cliffs, which is near all of the old huts that Luke and other Lanais' lived. "We're here." Rey she says with a sorrow in her voice.
"Rey, I know something is wrong. I can feel it through our force-bond" I turn the chair around to look at her. She turns around instantly and gives her attention towards me. I shrug my shoulders signaling to tell me what's wrong, but instead she ignores my gestures and keeps glaring at me. I sigh and shake my head. I get up and walk past her not wanting to waist our time just staring at each other and saying nothing.
I hear Rey huff under her breath and follow me out of the ship. I put my hood up covering my head and she does the same. I let her lead the way since this is the first time i have ever been to this planet.
"So where to first?" I ask squinting because of the rain getting into my eyes. "We first have to go to Luke's old hut. He must of left at least some books for us to study from." Rey says while glancing around.
Upon arriving to Luke's old hut, we went inside, seeing only four books left. Rey swiftly grabs all four books and reads the title of each, then puts them in her bag. "There has to be more than just four books." she says to herself while observing the hut. I look around trying to find a clue or something but I find nothing. I sit on the bed while I let Rey do her own thing. I look at one of Luke's old nik naks and distract myself with it.
"Ben... Aren't you going to help me?" Rey asks while giving me a irritating look. I put down the nik nak and look at her. "Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" I look at her with a smirk on my face.
"We don't have time to talk about personal problems so can you please help me?" She puts her hands on her hips and and gives me a death glare.
"Well I'm sorry but I won't help until you tell me what is wrong." Rey gives out a hefty sigh and sits down next to me.
"The ship that we were on was the same one where one of Palpatine's minions killed my parents." I instantly look at her once those words come out of her mouth. She puts her head into her hands and leans over. I rub her back while she starts to cry.
"Rey I'm so sorry I didn't know-""No don't be. How would you know anyways, besides it's not your fault." She says while sniffling and sitting back up.
She looks at me with a sad smile and then leans her head on my shoulder. I instantly regret and feel guilty for having her express what she found out about that ship. I continue rubbing her back until she gets up and starts looking for the books again. I get up and start looking as well. I move the bed away and find a hidden door. We both look at each other in confusion. I open the door while using all of my might. I struggle to open it but once I do, a bunch of dust comes flying out and getting into my face.
"I knew it!" Rey blurts out while crouching down to see whatever is in the secret vault. I wipe off the dust on my face and I see a bunch of old sacred Jedi text. She picks them up while blowing the dust away. She stuffs them in her bag with the other books and gets back up on her feet.
"Do we have everything now?" I ask while getting up and looking around one more time. "Yes, I believe so. But since we are here, we should probably do some training." Rey says while heading outside.
Once we are outside, I noticed it stopped raining and the beautiful sun was shining through the dark clouds. Rey grabs her staff that was leaning on our ship and starts walking towards one of the big mountains. I instantly follow her while observing all of the weird things that are on this planet. I've noticed that this world is filled with almost all water with some rocky islands, like the one we are on now. I also hear the porgs chirping and flying all around us, gosh they are really annoying birds.
Once we reach the top, Rey sighs and sits down on the edge of the cliff. I sit down next to her and look out at the ocean. "Ben, should we continue the Jedi?" "I- I don't know what to do." Is all I could muster out of my mouth.
She looks at me and then back at the endless ocean. "What do you think about our dyad bond?" Rey says still not breaking eye contact with the dark blue waters.
"We still need to figure out what that really means and how we can master it I guess. We have to figure it out before we do anything with the Jedi though." I say while picking up a rock that was next to me and throwing it far away from us. I could sense the peace within her from our force bond and I finally feel relaxed.
Rey leans her head on me again but this time I could tell she isn't sad. I put my arm around her and we quietly sit there taking in the beautiful and stunning sunset.
The next day I wake up to Rey missing from her bed. I quickly put on a shirt and go outside to find her. I go straight to Luke's hut but it's empty and I suddenly panic. I search through the village but I don't see her anywhere. How could I be so stupid to misplace the one person I need in my life.
"Um Ben, I'm right here." I turn around to see Rey standing by the ship. I feel my face become insanely hot and I rub my hand on my neck. "Oh where were you?" I say while being to embarrassed to make eye contact with her.
"I was just out on the cliff meditating and I let you sleep in because I could tell you were tired." she says while leaning her staff on the ship and wiping the sweat off of her face.
"Rey how long do we plan on staying her anyways?" I ask finally making eye contact with her. "We should probably stay as long as we can until we can understand our bond" "But how are we going to understand it if we don't have any information to start looking at!" Rey goes back into the ship and then comes out with the bags of books she found in Luke's hut.
"We have these books. So lets start."
