Calum's mother was the sweetest woman. She reminded me so much of my own and Calum was so lucky to have such a loving and caring mother in his life. She insisted I stayed for dinner and when I looked at her dark haired son for approval, he nodded.

I liked listening to her talk and despite the fact that Calum kept quiet and ate his food in a haste, it didn't lessen my desire to engage a conversation with Joy Hood. Talking to her made me miss my own mother so much and I made a mental note to call her soon.

"Gwen, please come again soon. You're always welcome here," Joy smiled. Calum tugged on my arm, obvious that he wanted to leave.

"Thank you so much for dinner, and if it's alright with your son, I'd love to come back again," I told her, a wave of delight sweeping over her.

"Let's go upstairs Gwen," Calum demanded through gritted teeth, pulling at my arm again. I gave his mom a wave before succumbing to Calum's demands.

"Jeez Cal, I was just talking to your mom. I like her," I stated, following him up the stairs.

"Well then I guess you have to come back again, don't you?" Calum turned his head over his shoulder and winked at me. I almost blushed again.

His room was like any typical teenaged boy's sleeping chamber. Band posters decorated his walls, clothes on the floor, opened bags of chips, empty water bottles, and cords from video game consoles were in a tangled mess at the foot of the entertainment center.

"You can sit on there," Calum said, pointing to the queen-sized, undone bed.

I nodded, taking a seat on the edge. I felt a little awkward being in his room alone with him. I kind of wanted to keep the door open but the moment I thought it, he closed it. I didn't think that he'd do anything to me because I oddly trusted the boy. He just makes me nervous and I couldn't quite understand these weird feelings I had whenever I thought about him.

"Do you want to watch a movie? I have Netflix," Calum mentioned.

"I don't know, it's getting kind of late," I told him. I looked away and turned my attention to my fidgeting fingers.

"Come on Gwen, it's not that late. And it's Friday. Just call the dickface's mum that you're out with a friend and that you'll get dropped off later," he suggested, and I raised a brow at his choice of words.

"Please don't call Luke any names," I sighed.

"Those weren't part of those rules you had for me," Calum retorted.

I didn't want to argue with him and I stood up from the bed, "I'm gonna go home now."

"No fück! I mean, shit, um, darn!" Calum stammered. He bit his bottom lip in frustration, taking in the lip ring in between his teeth. He placed both his hands on my shoulders and pushing me back down to sit on the bed. "I'm sorry. Just stay with me. Please Gwen?"

I scanned my eyes across his face, as if searching for some kind of truth hidden in his features. I couldn't read him. He was confusing as heck, and enigma embodied his soul. I think that's what both scared me and drew me towards Calum. He was stubborn, obnoxious and rude, but he was also kind, mesmerizing and cute. I wanted so bad to learn more about him.

I wanted to know all the little things about him, like his favorite color, what he likes to do for fun and if he could live off of one food for the rest of his life what it would be. I also wanted to know Calum on a deeper level. What makes him mad, why does he have a vendetta against Luke, and if he's still in love with Janet Riley. I wanted to know everything about him because I was willing to tell him everything about me.
