 ▌episode 4; soft as snow:
  a fluffy visitor

"Hey... Did you see that?"

Bullet like droplets thumped against the shelter as you turned back to the teen.

"See what?" Josuke cocked his head whilst stretching his long legs. His dark, baggy uniform pants almost brushed against the tiles.

"There was this... this thing- A tail, maybe? I mean, it looked like it!" You blabbered, your gaze switching from him to pass the school gates. He looked at you weirdly, as if your skin had turned blue.

"(y/n) are you seeing things?" He questioned, folding his arms behind his head as he leaned against the wall. You shook your head in denial, ready to defend yourself when you saw it again.

Another blueish glow. Your (e/c) eyes lit up instantly as you gasped. "It's there! Josuke, look!"

"Huh? You're joking right- Hey, wait!" His hand outstretched, he watched as you ran off into the rain.

Your dark chocolate loafers splashed into deep puddles, spraying muddy water in every direction. It was only a mere second, but you could've sworn an elongated appendage swooshed past the school gates. It must've been a trick of the light, inner you reasoned. But what seemed to be just a fleeting illusion bared an uncanny resemblance to a fluffy tail.

There was something. Something compelling about that mere glimpse.

The once innocent drizzle had morphed into something more vicious, and it wasn't even rainy season yet. Like webs, your lashes had caught the rain on them as you fluttered in confusion. It was gone. Your (colour) sweater had turned a shade darker, absorbing the weather as you spun around.

"Oi, don't just run off like that!" A huffing and puffing Josuke appeared behind you. He had his book bag held over his head like earlier today, a desperate measure to shield his hairdo.

"But I swear, it was just there...!" You gestured at the ground and did a double take.

Paw prints. Soiled, dark prints of small paw pads with leaves and- was that blood...? Better still, they continued down the sidewalk, further and beyond.

You breathed through your nostrils, inhaling the scent of rain and spring. Taking a step forward, you decided to follow the trail. Your confused and lowkey irritated friend watched in horror as you started running again.
