▌episode 2;higashikata josuke: reunion
- ♡ -
It all started in kindergarten. You were shy, and in a way, vulnerable. And unlike everyone else... you were friendless. Sort of the usual sob story many would hear from extremely introverted kids.
To you, then, this was a huge blow to your self esteem. And because you couldn't muster the courage to speak up, everyone who tried to befriend you, ended up ignoring you. And by the second year, you were still alone.
The cherry blossoms were blooming, and the rain had stopped sometime ago. Everyone was playing by the swings, and you watched as they zipped past, squealing in delight as the rusty chains rattled. You were on the verge of tears as your classmates played without you.
So you frolicked among the bushes by the back of the playground. You were out of sight from the other kids and teachers...
And when a stray cat jumped out of the bushes, you couldn't make a sound. Nothing came out. From the sheer fright, you were frozen solid. So when the feral thing slashed your face, you didn't react until blood spurted out of your wounds.
"Arghhhh!!" Your cries rang in the air, but everyone else's voices overpowered yours. "Someone... help!"
Your pleas drowned, your words mumbo jumbo as you began to sob. You dropped to your knees and cradled your bleeding face, trying to wipe away the dark liquid. But it only got into your eyes, fanning the agony a tenfold.
The suffering didn't go on for long, because somehow, he found you.
You would never forget the gentleness in his voice. The feeling of his soft, small hands cupped around your face as the wounds magically closed up, blood eventually had stopped running. And when he helped wiped away the filth on your face, and the first thing you were met with was a pair of astonishingly warm, blue eyes.
And the owner of those unforgettable pair belonged to...
"Higashikata Josuke?!"
Your (e/c) eyes almost popped out of their sockets as you gaped at the teen sitting behind you. The pompadour clad boy only blinked in surprise, his dark lashes fluttering rapidly in confusion.
There's no doubt about it! No one else puts their hair up like that. And those eyes... This guy... He's definitely Josuke!
You opened your mouth to continue, but a strike on your head brought you to your senses. Tomoyo was glaring with the intensity of a million suns, as she gestured at her surroundings.
